new FLEX jobs posted

I have been cleared and I know lots of other folks who have been cleared.

What is anyone's opinion on whether this will last for 2 years or closer do you think closer to 6 months?

WE have worked almost an entire month and have been paid for a portion of a week. I consulted an outside attorney just to ask if this was even legal for hourly employees to be paid like this? The answer was no. When an employer ask an hourly employee to attend training and travel is involved, time to and from training site, time of training, dinner if required. I believe all of these we did in a two day period and most of us were not paid for our time. Most of us left for the meeting 6-7 am and did not stop the first day of Training until 8-9 pm (14-15 hours). The following day 7-8 am did not arrive home any time from 8-1am (13-18 hours) We worked in 2 days 27-33 hours - these hours added to the prior days preparing for the meeting Sun,Mon,Tues,Wed would have put us into Overtime.
As my legal council pointed out - hence why they "made a mistake" and paid us this time first. If they paid us all the hours at once we as hourly employees would have had to be granted OT pay. When we were interviewed and the way we understood we would be paid full time pay from PDI during the two weeks of home study and additional money I assumed from BI for Orlando. I am not sure why we have not gotten an answer on this, no samples, no business cards, no name badge. How legally can we even get signatures for no samples or literature. They cant audit for no samples. I have to say this is not a very good start and we have nothing. We need to get paid for time on conf calls, admin work, or don't have 1 hour conf calls and expect hourly employees to be on them. This was not how this was presented so everyone needs to get on the same page. Don't schedule field rides until reps have the necessary materials, conf calls, expectations. Get the mileage worked out so we can get reimbursed for something. Some reps have 280,360,120 calls to make in their computer. How many are they suppose to make to reach their goals. How can one rep have so many be held to same reach and frequency as someone who has so little. No one is saying anything - like this is ok. It is not ok. This is not normal. This is strange- Everyone works for money. Everyone, even flex time reps.

Previous post very well said! I am amazed we have a contract with BI for such a great product but expect us to not receive pay for our time in Orlando. Poor business practices, period! They barely fed us. Lunch, no snacks for 2 long days. I think more people will come forward about pay issues. Yes, with some having 150-200 targets makes impossible to make reach and frequency! Big rah rah session to pump us up for bonuses we cannot obtain because the are so out of reach! My kids asked me tonight why I still work at my job when they are so unfair! Smart kiddos!

Bonus how do you know what the bonus will even be for the contract?
The only thing that has been mentioned was reach frequency no exact bonus amount.
No baseline to work from.

First off, you are not hourly, you get paid by the signature! PDI is slow paying for training so you can expect to get paid about a month from now. You do get travel time pay, it's called mileage. I guess you think you are going to have a case with your lawyer, but you didn't explain to your lawyer that you are flex time and not hourly. You better have a serious talk with your boss so you can understand how this job works. I have a feeling you won't be long with PDI.

I am not the original poster, but I suspect you are a DM or someone other than a rep. Why don't you tell us how this JOB really works?

Everyone on the contract knows the difference.
I am sure the poster doesn't want anything more
than two weeks full time pay as promised to all of us.
Not $400 for 2 days. Flex time, full time, hourly whatever that
makes no sense. I have worked on more than one contract for them
and never have been paid a portion of a two week training.
Let me see, if my manager was only receiving $400 in a month I
am sure we would be getting a reply. Reps can only be expected to work for about
another few days until they get more upset.
So to the above poster, tell me what should a flex time rep expect to be paid
When in their contract is says you will be paid
Full time for two week training?

FIRST OFF, these folks were misled! Period! I went through the interview process but passed on continuing. Too little information. You all should quit so companies don't try to pull this again. People should be paid for training etc. That's your "FIRST OFF". Managers promised samples at interviews. Also said BI reps wouldn't have the same samples. Is that happening? Don't try to blame the reps!

Not a DM just a rep who has been with this company for a long time. Good luck trying to figure out your pay. You really need to keep track of all your calls that you submit, your training pay etc. We have gone 6 months before they get stuff corrected and we get paid on training. For some reason we are the last ones to get the $$$$$ so you better be a good bookkeeper. Take a look around, so many are leaving and the contract just got started. Does that tell you something?

Very frustrating start to what seemed like a great contract with a company that has a great product and great formulary coverage. I worked for PDI before and I should have known that it is PDI that messes things up. The training pay is incomprehensible (I put my children in daycare for two weeks and only got paid $400!). I am paying to work for PDI. The mileage reimbursement of ZERO for the first 40 miles kills anyone in an urban area for wear and tear. I didn't get cleared until Thursday. Not sure if this makes any financial sense to stay with the contract...

Position has already been posted in my area which means rep already quit. I stopped the interview process before final interview. So what does that tell you? Find something else. Punish these idiots for treating you all so poorly.

Let's be real. This is a good contract! PDI is extremely unorganized, but the offices are responding very well to the product. It is by far the best contract we have ever had.
