I was supposed to interview with the Abbott Mgr but then was told the position is on hold. Does anyone know anything about this? Supposedly there were other territories needing to be filled sooner than the one I was interviewing for. Does this happen often? How long should I wait before I give up?
i am on this contract currently, and i recently worked w/ my abbott dm. he said that nationally, there were 70 open territories. however, they were only going to fill 35-40 of those (depending on where the greatest need was).
i would say that if you were told it was put on hold, the likelihood of it coming open again are pretty slim...

I am currently interviewing for a position. Do you think recent layoffs are going to affect this contract? What have you been hearing in the field? I know nothing is safe in pharma anymore but if this is going to be a 6 month job for me, I am not sure I'd be excited to take it.
haven't heard an official word. everyone has their opinions. who knows, really?? there's a nsm scheduled for february. i'm guessing we'll know before the meeting.
i do know that all the abbott cardio reps are scrambling to get positions in other divisions. could be a bad sign, or could be good for the contract since contract reps might be the only reps left in these positions...
Where is the nsm going to be held? Vegas?
The contract should go on through Dec of 2013. Qunintiles can interview for inhouse positions.
