Nevro

They have begun to talk to recruiters about new territories. Sounds like several KOL type SCS implanters for the big three, are singing Nevro's praise. Worth a listen

it would surprise me that they are doing anything in the US yet. I do think they are intriquing as a therapy based on what I have heard from several SCS docs of mine. Anyone hearing the same?

I hear it works but I doubt very seriously Medicare or any private insurance company is going to pay for a battery changeout every year. A rechargeable battery running in the 12,000Hz range with the current battery technology will have to be recharged daily and will burn through its recharge cycles very quickly.

This technology will never hit the streets in the US under the guidance of Nevro. SJM or MDT wiil be scooping this baby up in the very near future. And being DeMane is running the show ,and as a former MDT guy who was run out of town, I wouldn't be surprised if he kicks MDT in the balls and sells it to SJM.

why did JnJ dump so much money in? They either want into the SCS market or.... to make a few million off a buyout? Doubt it.

I'm going with "entering the market". Maybe JnJ will buy them out. Do they have the right sales reps?

Stryker, Zimmer or any other spinal would be another option.

But they could go it alone, also, for quite a while. Neuro is still a business where you get key doctors and key centers --- you don't need to try to sell to every community hospital.

The investments in Nevro by J&J and MDT are very interesting in that they do not require Nevro to give any righst to the technology to either company.

This means that neither investor has rights to distribute/sell the technolgy.

Maybe the $ is designed to build a good relationship now for a time in the future when the Company/Technology will be for sale?

J&J will be playing in the neuromodulation space in the very near future. They have their hands in many baskets - nevro, spinal modulation, etc.....

1. JNJ Development Corp is involved in this company
2. SJM isn't buying anything in the near future
3. This is years away from the US market
