Neuro. safe??

Unfortunately, I don't see it. To Merck the neuro team is expendable. Look at the writing on the wall; Maxalt in the EPBU bag; withdrawl of migraine compound and perhaps the biggest dagger of all-one product bag. Good luck to you all, some great reps will fall on the sword as a result.

high level reps, cut off with no where to go?

high level reps, cut off with no where to go?

Likely Fred Hassan planned it this way....there was a lot of enticement for "the best of the best" to apply for a Saphris position.... so that the tenured, high salaried reps could later be let go in one full sweep when the time was right....and that time is fast approaching.

Funny sounds like someone who got turned down for the position. All these people saying Neuro is gone better look in the mirror. No one is safe except probably Hep C. One thing you people need to recognize is that the CNS market makes up 24 billion. That's a lot of money and Saphris stick has new indications and new clinical data forthcoming. Becareful what you say. No one is safe.

so - the CNS market makes up 24 billion - what part of that is generated by the generics in the class?

With the economy sinking, more people out of work, less will be willing to pay for a brand name product when a generic will get the job done.

With additional pressure from govt placed on the insurance industry, there will be much higher co-pays and more hoops to jump through before pts get to any brand, let alone Saphris.

Hep C?! Are you kidding me? First in class and a much better drug then anything in Neuro~and all we garner is 20% market share?

Everyone--everyone--everyone better be looking. NO-ONE IS SAFE. But, Neuro will be especially hard hit. Yes, market can be $24B but, we ain't making in-roads.

Saphris is a me too drug with too much liability.

Polish off your CV. Change is coming and it don't look pretty.

When I first started selling Saphris I thought it had a chance. Nowadays all I hear is coverage issues and patient complaints about how to take it and how bad it tastes. I am very concerned with only having this 1 drug in our bag and how we cant seem to break the 2% MS mark. With more generics on the horizon I am not sleeping too well at night knowing how much this team is costing the company. I agree that no one is safe anymore. I just hope we can all find jobs in order to feed our families when the time comes.

Funny how all those former neuro reps complained about moving into PC.....their all pretty safe if their exec 2s now.

The move from Neuro to PC was like leaving the major leagues and going back into AA leagues. The PC existence was every bit the nightmare I had always heard it was. I feel sorry for you pathetic bastards who are still stuck there. A layoff would be a blessing for you.

Major leagues, minor leagues, who cares....its a job....and right now in this economy I wish I was anywhere secure. Have been there and the thought of another layoff is numbing.

Neuro is definitely going to be one to watch.

Saphris has done nothing and with more generics on the horizon, the neuro division is going to disolve faster than a Saphris tab in a schizos mouth.

Watch out!
