Alabama secured its hold at the top of the BCS standings a day after winning its biggest road test of the season.

Kansas State remained No. 2, while No. 3 Oregon passed No. 4 Notre Dame in the latest standings released Sunday night. All three contenders won on Saturday.

The Crimson Tide, No. 1 in both the USA Today and Harris polls, rallied for a 21-17 win at LSU on Saturday and were rewarded by the computer average that makes up one-third of the BCS standings.

Last week, Alabama was rated No. 1 by only one of the six computer formulas. After beating LSU, four of the computers rate Bama No. 1. The Tide are 2nd and 3rd in the other computers -- Notre Dame is No. 1 in both of those. The average discounts the six computers' highest and lowest rating.

Alabama's advantage over Kansas State in the full BCS average increased from to .0359 to .0639.

Oregon, ranked second in both polls, jumped to No. 3 after winning at USC 62-51, while Notre Dame barely won at home against Pitt, 29-26 in triple overtime.

Alabama finishes the regular season with home games against No. 15 Texas A&M, Western Carolina and Auburn.

Kansas State plays at TCU this week, then travels to Baylor before finishing at home against No. 17 Texas.

Oregon is at Cal on Saturday night, then at home against No. 14 Stanford, and ends its season at No. 11 Oregon State.

Notre Dame concludes its season away to Boston College, at home against Wake Forest, and at No. 19 USC.

Of the four, only Alabama and Oregon would have to play in their conference championships before bowl season begins.

LSU fell two spots from fifth to seventh after its loss.

No. 9 Louisville, the only other eligible unbeaten team, passed No. 10 Florida State to move up one spot.

What a farce.

You folks know as well as I do that there is no way in hell that Bama should have that kind of lead in the BCS. If you look at the stats in the Bama-LSU game you would clearly see that LSU actually outplayed them. More total yards. More first downs. Why wouldn't the computers take that into account? Because the system is fixed. That's why.

Bama still has to get past Texas A&M. That won't be easy. Texas A&M is getting stronger as the season goes on. Bama might have stolen a game from LSU. I don't expect that to happen with A&M. Bama is going to have to beat them fair and square. If A&M gains more total yards than Bama, A&M wins. Mark my words.

Shit, Oregon had 745 total yards against USC. Unheard of. Go find another team in the last decade that scored 62 points against USC and had 745 total yards. heh. Good luck.

Oregon would roll right over Kansas State. For K-State to be ahead of Oregon in the BCS poll is an insult. I can't wait for TCU to kick K-State's ass next week. If Klein is injured and can't play against TCU it's all over. K-State is a one man band. Without Klein they fold. Watch.

NCAA FOOTBALL WEEK 10 PICK EM FINAL:

1. BRONCOBOY!!!! (11-3) The Frauds and Fakers will hate on you but you did a great job this week. You were spot on concerning Pitt and San Diego State. I don't know why in the hell you chose Ole Miss? Great Job!!

2. FUCKTARD (8-4) I wish we could have gotten your Thursday and Friday Night picks in. It would have been interesting to see who you would have picked.

3. BAMABOY (7-7) At least I was 50% this week and my Crimson Tide pulled out the win in Death Valley against LSU! LSU WHO???

4. Tinkrbelle (6-8) WHITE TRASH (6-8) PALE HORSE (6-8) Thanks for playing again. I am sorry BAMA did not cover the spread for you last night. I also picked Notre Dame like Tinkr and Pale did...ND is way overrated since they cannot beat an un-ranked opponent at home?

5. BRONCOFRAUD (5-9) Thanks for playing an entertaining us again this week. I could always use a good laugh at Bronco Boy's expense!

BamaBoy,

I have White Trash @ 7-7 with the following winning picks:

Miami, Oklahoma, Cinncinnati, Georgia, Pitt, Texas and Kansas State.

Please double check and confirm before I post the LeaderBoard.

Reverse these picks and you have this weeks Pick 'em winner.

11-3 baby!

How'd that dixie crow taste, btw? A little boney and tough you say? You probably cooked it too long. 45 minutes @ 325 degrees should have been enough. I suspect you cooked it for an hour or more, eh? Did you remember to baste it with possum fat? You'll have another chance in Week #11 to get it right. By the end of the season you'll be a dixie crow pro chef. :D

BamaBoy,

I have White Trash @ 7-7 with the following winning picks:

Miami, Oklahoma, Cinncinnati, Georgia, Pitt, Texas and Kansas State.

Please double check and confirm before I post the LeaderBoard.

Thanks for catching that. I just looked at my notes and I did not count him getting Oklahoma (chokelahoma) as a win. He is definitely (7-7). Thanks!

I just think the computers take into account the 22 winning streak at home by LSU and LSU's defensive prowess, I also think the AP and Coaches (who know a think or two about football agree). BCS is a bunch of bullshit though. As long as Oregon and BAMA keep winning each week it does not matter about computer rankings and all polls. Kansas State will slip because they don't have an extra conference championship game in their schedule. Same goes for Notre Dame. Texas A&M is not going to be easy next weekend. They have gotten better as the year has progressed but are still (7-2) they almost lost to Ole Miss and Louisiana Tech??

BTW, you were right about picking PITT over ND. I wish I would have made that pick. I can't believe the Golden Domers pulled it out in three overtimes. I was ready to watch their fan base melt down. I can't believe how NBC shows them singing their Alma Matter at the end of the game. Makes me choke back the vomit already in my mouth..Absolutely disgusting..

A few time-change-induced insomnia thoughts:

LSU saved the SEC from not having an appearance in the National Championship game.

I hope for this board's sake that Alabama plays Oregon in the NC game. If it ends up being any other team, this board will spin out of control without the main argument being settled.

I am glad BamaBoy hates Notre Dame as much as I do. I hope BamaBaby sends his SAT scores to Notre Dame just to piss off his dad like I did. (Sent mine to Auburn for shits and giggles)

I love college football.

Bronco is a nut job.

Love,

Fuckie

PICK 'EM LEADERBOARD THROUGH WEEK #10

Okay, Sportsfans. This race is heatin' up. We have some changes in Week #10. Fucktard caught Tinkrbelle and leads by a nostril hair. That is going to be one heckuva battle between the 2 Pick 'Em filly's as we close in on the home stretch. Congratulations to Fucktard for a job well done. The question is: Can she hold the lead? Tinker doesn't think so. We'll soon find out.

In other news, BroncoBoy kicked it into high gear and took over 3rd position. He's got his eye on the 2 filly's but it's going to take another big week to run 'em down. Does Bronco have it in him? Week #10's sprint along the inside rail took a huge burst of energy. It's doubtful that Bronco can repeat that performance in Week #11. Hold onto your hats!!!

*******************************************************************

1. FUCKTARD: (51-53) + (8-4) = (59-57) (50.9%%) (88.5%) [Fucktard to the head of the pack. In the lead by only .4% ahead of Tinker. Wow! What a race! The fans in the stands are going nuts screaming and chewing on their race programs. Fuckie has the momentum but Tink loves a challenge!!! May the best filly win!!!]

2. TINKRBELLE: (59-56) + (6-8) = (65-64) (50.4%) (98.5%) [Tink tells Fucktard "Bring it on, pony! You ain't got the mojo to beat me to the wire!" Fucktard retorts "You've been in the lead way too long, filly. Move aside and let Fuckie show you the way to the finish line." Oh man! What a race!!!]

3. BRONCOBOY: (52-65) + (11-3) = 63-68) (48.1%) (100%) [Man oh man! Bronco turned on the jets in Week #10 and took over 3rd place. But Bronco doesn't want to settle for a show. Does he have the juice left to catch Fuckie and Tink? Bronco is no spring chicken. Let's hope he doesn't blow out a femur coming down that final stretch.]

4. PALE HORSE: (43-48) + (6-8) = (49-56) (46.7%) (80.1%%) [Pale is one pissed pony. The last thing he wanted to look at was Bronco's ass. Pale is fired up for Week #11. He vows to retake 3rd position and turn on the afterburners down the stretch for a big win at the finish.]

5. BAMABOY: (51-66) + (7-7) = (58-65) (44.3%) (100%) [BamaBoy had a respectable .500 in Week #7. He knows that White Trash goes Premium next week and that he needs a big score in Week #11 to hold onto 5th position. Bama says "I ain't going to get one uped by no damn White Trash". Here we go, Folks! The war is on!!!]

6. WHITE TRASH: (36-45) + (7-7) = (43-52) (45.3%) (72.5%) [White Trash should go premium next week. Holy shit. All things being equal WT would jump into 5th over Bama and challenge Pale! White Trash says "I ain't no ordinary White Trash. I'm goina to teach you MF'ers a lesson here. This White Trash is goina be somebody. You are goina respect this White Trash by the time this race is finished." GO ON, WHITE TRASH! TALK YOUR SHIT!]

7. BREAKING NEWS: (29-48) + (NP) = (29-48) (37.6%) (58.7%) [Breaking got a multi-year contract from a local stud farm for his services. It was one of those offers that Breaking couldn't refuse. So Breaking pulled out (pun) of the competiton. Be safe, Breaking. Always check ID. Don't get caught with an underaged filly. heh.]

8. NIGHT TRAIN LANE: (2-8) + (NP) = (2-8) (25%) (7.6%) [NTL is smoking hay and watching this shit on closed circuit from the stables. He wants the same gig as Breaking but unfortunately no offers to date and nothing in the mail.]

* First percentage is % of correct picks of total picks by each player.

* Second percentage is % of games each picker has played of the total 131 games that have been posted from Week #1 through Week #8. Those who have not picked at least 75% of the total 131 games are in the sub-premium category and are not qualified to be on top of the leaderboard. However, sub-premium players can join the premium group by picking all the games from this point on, as long as they raise their % of total games picked to 75% or more.

With all due respect I have to hand it to QB McCracken for taking his team down the field in 45 seconds, 4th Quarter and scoring on LSU in Baton Rouge when they needed a TD. Even if LSU outplayed them in the stats - that was one nice piece of work by McCracken and my hat comes off to him for it. And Alabama showed me that they are a fine team, no doubt. They passed the 1st part of my test. But Bama is not invincible. Their defense can be penetrated. The 2nd part of the test is A&M next week. And I will be watching closely.

Actually, I hope and pray that Alabama keeps on winning so that they meet up with Oregon in the NC game. Oregon's going to keep on winning. That for sure. No other team could stop that offense. Every time they got their hands on the ball against USC they scored. I can't recall one Oregon punt. It would seem that the USC defensive coordinator would adapt. But Oregon's got so many tricks in their bag that once you plug up one hole another one opens up somewhere else.

Oh, and I don't hate ND this year. I sort of like Brian Kelly (in a guy way). He seems like a very nice man. A very lucky man for sure. I just don't think that ND is that good a team. Oh, no doubt in the top 15. Just not a candidate for the BCS championship. Perhaps next year. Not this year. But I have nothing against ND.

Last year Stanford put 56 up against them. In 2009 they did the same thing.

Everyone knows that Alabama is the greatest team ever. Everybody knows that. God put Saban at Alabama. THAT IS AN INDISPUTABLE FACT. Everybody knows that. The ducks will lose to Stanford everybody knows that. Alabama is located in Tuscaloosa....THAT IS A FACT! The NC will be played by two SEC teams. Everybody knows that. Alabama beat Western Kentucky. That is a fact jack!

I was on the road last Thursday / Friday with no time to play on the world wide web, but to answer the question, what was I thinking picking USC last week. Well looking back I was thinking like a dumb ass, but my thought process was
A) The USC defense could not be as bad as their stats, turns out it is worse.
B) Oregon is the FSU of the west coast, they will find a way to lose at least one game to a team they should beat.

It does not impact his standing or winning percent this week, but BamaBoy at (51-66) + (7-7) = (58-65) (44.3%) (100%) has an error, 66 plus 7 is not 65

:p

Thanks for your keen observations, White Trash.

When doing the calculations I write the numbers down on paper before recording them on the LeaderBoard. Looks like I copied the wrong figure for BamaBoy's losing picks. Instead of "66" it should be "73". But I did copy the percentage of winning picks "44.3%" correctly, which is calculated by 51/131. Like you said, no harm no foul.

Duly noted and the correction will be posted in Week #11.

Obviously, you aren't as dumb as the average White Trash. Hat tip for the catch. ;)

Broncofraud is tipping the stetson to Broncoboy, I thought your skinny jeans would cut off the blood flow to you head, but you did a mighty fine job last week. You did the Bronco Nation proud while I just laid a big stinky steamy pile on the pickem trail. Getty up.

Note to All Pick 'Em Players

We have a good 4 weeks left of competition for the regular season and the playoffs. Any of the top 6 pickers could capture the Pick 'Em regular season crown and strut his or her stuff in the winner's circle. There is only about a 6% spread between the #1 and #6 player. Hell, BroncoBoy picked up 4 percentage points in one week! If that old nag can do it you can too! The key is to do your homework and research. Look not only at the odds - look at the injuries, look at the win or loss margins, look at the history of home vs. away victories, measure the importance of offensive vs. defensive strengths and weaknesses, and MOST IMPORANT go with your gut instinct. Not every game can be predicted based on past performance. Many times it's team chemistry when pitted against a specific opponent and that's hard to measure or forecast. There are going to be upsets every single week. Sniff them out!

Good luck to all.

No. The last thing I wanna hear is the BS about the conspiracy of the BCS and how wrong they are. I have asked for proof of this conspiracy and all I get is "everybody knows". Straw dogs and platitudes don't impress me.

I never agreed to this. I thought this was supposed to be some kind of F@#$%&! democracy and there was not a vote. I want my competitors in there w/ us. This is ludicrous.

Those players who have routinely picked are rewarded for their consistency. Those who have picked less than 75% of the games are at an advantage statistically. Consequently there is a price to pay for that. It's called fairness. So if a new picker showed up in Week #11 and picked 60% of the game he should go to the front of the pack? Bullshit.

There is no rational or logical explanation for Bama to have that kind of lead in the BCS poll. LSU kicked the crap out of them in total yards and in first downs. LSU won that game on paper.

Those BCS judges must be Friends of Bama.

So what makes you smarter than every BCS computer or person that works for the BCS? I mean if you were you wouldn't be playing pick'em w/ a bunch of us hayseeds. You'd be sipping coffee w/ Bill Gates.
