Natpara Rare Disease Expansion Offers

Hey, no worries because now we have rare orphan disease experience and you can't put a dollar figure on that. Happy New Year!

It's all about the patient. Except the drugs cost 400k a year. Total hypocrites. But I'll take my paycheck and play the game while I look for a respected company that doesn't treat me like a pc rep.

Hey, no worries if you're not motivated by money BUT then why the heck are you even in sales?! Good luck paying the kids' tuition with all that experience that you can't put a dollar figure on. Happy New Year!

What experience? This is funny that some sample dropping lialda rep thinks this is xperience is going to help them. Anybody in rare disease knows to stay away from shire folks because they aren't truly a rare disease sales force anymore. Unless you were legacy NPS, this experience won't help you.

OBU doesn't deserve to make this much. It's a different job.

I launched Natpara and left before the first year was out and most of the original team has followed.

First off, it's not a rare disease sell. No patient contact, strict call reporting, monthly manager ride alongs, bullshit company cars that you pay for, buying lunch for group practices, etc. Anyone who's worked in rare disease knows that this isn't it.

Secondly, Natpara is a dog. No outcomes/safety data vs Ca/Active Vit D and uncontrolled patients are already on therapy will ensure that the product never sells above 100M. How long will Shire pay a salesforce for modest sales until they start layoffs?

Third, Shire sucks balls. RBDs are useless and have zero authority...CIA ensures that marketing strategy will be so conservative that even the best reps won't have what's needed to be successful.

I'm dreading 2017. They are going to ram this "experience thing" down our throats. Don't tell me, PAY ME!!! Or isn't there enough money left in the coffers for the minions after our CEO got his 425% pay increase to keep him from bailing on Shire?

Also, there is no micromanagement in rare disease. Heads in Lexington, Chicago & Atlanta are going to explode.

This is spot on

No more call activity, Mngr field rides or KPI expectations? Is that your idea to improve things?
If you had a $40M portfolio in stocks or retirement, wouldn't you be reviewing performance regularly? How is that any different with Immun team and expecting to measure investments being made to get a return on the $40M asset called our salesforce! You need to take a serious look at your career and if you truly are a professional, its time to go out and change your situation and start investing in your profession as much as you spend on this F&*%^ site. Again, If I had $40M in a portfolio, you can best your A$$ I'd be measuring and monitoring on a regular basis to see what is happening with my return....Point blank, we are an investment and expected to deliver a return to the company. If we don't, we will see a change in investment strategy and find ourselves out the door. I choose to spend the time working toward the outcome.

It's not that difficult.

I understand that, I also am intrinsically motivated to do my best and make the most money possible for myself and my family. The extra bullshit KPI's, trackers etc don't help. They encourage us to be dishonest just to check a box.
We are all adults and professionals we know how to run our business and be effective. The minutia is maddening but yes it won't change and that is very de-motivating and sad. There should be a change in investment strategy, any idiot can see there are far too many reps and that territories are far too small.
