MUST READ-Before you work here!

It will never cease to amaze me when seeing the number of people who come on to this site and, somehow, still decide to give this place a shot. I can't speak too harshly, because I too made this mistake at one point, but for the person saying that they have a family to support, that the pay and car allowance would be a leg up, and that your experience and hard work should mean something to them....please, don't make this mistake.

This job is only suitable for a young professional looking to make some money while finding a better job. If you go into it with that mentality, that you are only there for a short time, and you can overlook being condescended and treated poorly on the daily, you could make this work for the 6 or so months you'll be around. But when thinking that your skills will keep you around, I can tell you that between myself and the other reps they let go when I was, your skills and performance ultimately don't matter. It was one thing for me, because I was in my 20s without a family, but to be let go abruptly after altering your life to fit with this job, it could be much more devastating to lose the job with a family and mortgage.

You see the number of posts, and the consistency with which they come into this site, so you have to know that something is up. Ask about it during your interview, and challenge them on their responses. If they tell you that things have changed, ask why there are posts from as recently as today citing that it hasn't. I am glad to no longer work for this "company," however at the time I was let go it was a complete shock. If you take nothing else away from reading these posts, please be conscious of the fact that you are an "At Will" employee, that they have the right to let you go at any time for any (or no) reason at all, and that they undoubtedly will let you go within 3-6 months (if you're lucky).

Thank you for posting!

To the original poster: you are 110% spot on! You're obviously articulate, smart and can see things at MDL as clearly as the sun. The place is so uber cheap and the managers are easily led and will jump only if they ask "how high?" If they forget that, they won't become managers. If you even come across one ounce smarter than VT - you're done. It's all true. I see World Wide Medical Products is done?? Is this true? Just the writing on the wall for all of the other "ventures" of EM.

The fact that your advice is to question what's written on cafe pharma during a job interview just proves that you are not very smart and therefore were just plainly unsuccessful as a sales rep with this company. I hope that anyone with some brains would conclude this.

Good luck with your future office supply sales coordinator job.

It's a FACT that there are daily negative posts on the MDL page, as a potential employee why wouldn't it be appropriate to ask for "their" side of the story? The negative comments are fact based and posted by more than one disgruntled ex-employee. If you want to go into the interview ignoring the negative side that's your choice and you are the perfect minion employee who will never question anything at MDL including numbers, comp plan payment, expense denials, lower than average mileage reimbursement, do I need to keep going?

MDL is a small company with a small sales force but the volume of negative posts is huge!

I have never worked for a company with such grossly incongruent operational practices, inept communication and clumsy protocols. They spend their wheels getting new accounts as fast as they irritate clients and lose them! No doubt the science is good-but a chain is only as strong as its weakest link! Company culture needs to be as business focused as it is science focused-that means stronger administrative competence & oversight.

EM knows exactly what he needs to do. FIRE VT and bring someone qualified from the outside. Have that person strip down the existing culture and re-build it with new, fresh policies. Shit rolls downhill. Corporations tends to take on the personality of their CEO. Re-brand. MDL has one lone negative factor that is holding back / bringing down the entire sales department....profoundly insecure little vt. Get rid of her. What she needs to do for a living is to not be around people.

So many things you learn after the fact! This company is so unprofessional! No wonder why they cannot keep good people or ones with prior experience. So glad I saw the light early.

I read the posts and then managed to speak to several mdl employees. I was convinced to not continue with the interview process. OMG.....am I so much happier for doing that.

Good point, although I do believe he's aware of this website and simply turns a dumb blind eye. It's a matter of pride as to why some folks have certain positions and don't deserve to be there: he put them there. And he was wrong to do so.

I did the same thing...was offered a job....read these and didn't take the job...they did seem like decent people at the interview.

I refused to go for final interveiw when they told me that my "interview" was to be scheduled for 930pm, yes, that is not a misprint. 930pm at night, 120 miles from my house. i told them to fuck off

Where's our little redistributive liberal who was espousing earlier how wonderful ObamaCare will be. She was educating everyone on the merits of it and basically implying that anyone not on board with it just be an obtuse thinker.

Obamacare is great! Many people have insurance and health care benefits who could never afford it before. I see the benefit already with lower premiums. Thank God for President Obama!

Another moonbat liberal. Steal from your neighbor. My insurance has been doubled and it'll be canceled after October .

A socialist, communist and a radical liberal walk into a bar. The bartender looks up and says, " Hi Barak Hussein. The usual?"

What are some of the reasons they use to "let people go"????
