Each year before the Academy Awards, I make it a point to watch some of the contenders that interest me. Six years ago, a lady friend invited me to see a new Indie called 'Slumdog Millionaire' and I left the theater predicting it would be best picture of the year. People thought I was daft. It won.

Last night my girlfriend wanted to see 'The Theory of Everything.' Once again, I predict this will either gain a 'best picture' or best actor' win at the awards in February.

This truly is a wonderful film worth watching.

What ever happened to folks that impersonated actors? Example: Rich little

What ever happened to folks that impersonated actors? Example: Rich little

Canadian Rich Little made a wad and moved out of the limelight. He impersonated a few actors, comedians and some politicians. His favorites were James Stewart, Johnny Carson, Don Rickles, Dean Martin, Truman Capote, Richard Nixon and Ronald Reagan. He resides in Las Vegas, where he often performs. He was sworn in as an American citizen in a Las Vegas courtroom on January 10, 2008.

These guys James Stewart, Johnny Carson, Don Rickles, Dean Martin, Truman Capote, Richard Nixon and Ronald Reagan had their own style. Their own personality.

Actors of today just do not have their own distinguishable personalities. That is why we do not have those folks like Rich Little anymore guys.

Add 'Boyhood' to the must see list. At Golden Globes they have 2 movie categories. 'Boyhood' won one of them, 'Theory of everything won the other. This will be a tough decision at the Academy Awards.

Have you seen it yet? I will make a point to. It looks interesting. It hasn't been ignored since it's one of only 8 movies on the list. The nomination alone says Hollywood has recognized it and should increase box office sales. Whether or not it gets the win is another story. Remember, the odds are 1 out of 8.

We're up to 4 now, 1) Theory of everything 2) Boyhood 3) Imitation Game 4) Grand Budapest Hotel. 1 & 2 are still the best IMHO. This weekend shooting for (pardon pun) American Sniper, Birdman & Whiplash. Thoughts anyone?

We're up to 5 now, 1) Theory of everything 2) Boyhood 3) Imitation Game 4) Grand Budapest Hotel 5) Whiplash. 1 & 2 are still the best IMHO but Whiplash grabbed you by the nutsack and held on from start to finish. Next, is American Sniper & Birdman.

We'll get there DD, my woman wants to see all 10 on the awards list before the ceremony. I know it's a chick thing but my reward for going along with it is - omg! great!!! ;)

I was just reminded by my CHICK (lol) that we saw it. She said what's his name sure looked tasty and had to review the thing with me three times before I remembered it. Uh huh, uh huh! Chick flick but pretty good one for one evening. I actually enjoyed it.

Also for all you others on CP right now, Deep Throat is showing on Playboy Channel. It's a guy flick and Linda does a pretty memorable job . ;)
