More Layoffs







As far as the layoffs go my understanding was that they were to let go one person in each dept depending on the BU and how they performed. I have heard rumors of a second wave but nothing confirmed.

They let go more that one person per dept in So California and no every dept was hit. I too understand that a second wave of layoffs is coming. Probably next month.
 






When does the 2nd wave start and who is the target? Is it again across the board or certain units/departments? I think the economy isn't getting any better...at least not for this industry...
 










































ALSO, the number of workers doe NOT need to be all at one location. QUEST was to inform the state when this type of layoff happens and they did not. Obviously it is in their $$ interest to give pittiful sefverance packages.

This recent layoff from QUEST definitely applies. The laid off workers are entitled to a min. of 6 weeks severance. For those over 40 years of age, it is also customary to receive one week severance for every year over 40. QUEST was also to supply each laid off worker with the ages and titles of those laid off.
Here is what YOU have to do..it is simple. You e-mail the Labor Board of your state. Tell them to keep it anonymous (and they will anyway) and ask them to investigate it. This comes as NO CHARGE to you ! That's your State doing their job...better that QUEST pays severance than the person goes on State Unemployment. In most states, you can not draw Unemployment AND Severance. Severance is usually more $$ in your pocket...ALSO YOUR MEDICAL will runs through your severance.

How do they get away with this? its easy.. they reorg, change the job / name and description, a meer technicallty.They do keep a token 1 or 2 over 50 to satisfy uncle sam.. if you look around there are a few folks over 50 that really dont do anything? Those are the token over 50's I am an HR person..its done all the time.

I hope the sales class action suit burns Quest. They do this all the time. Let go long term older employees because their salaries are high and their benefets large.

Someone needs to put a stop to it. It has gone on too long.

No, these reps are let go because they have spent their entire career speaking with the receptionist and never speaking to a doctor. So many on these boards simply come here to write fiction. Go take a look at a healthcare company that actually employs sales reps, as opposed to service reps like Quest. 95% of the Quest reps wouldn't last 6 months in a real sales job.
 






The layoff starting tomorrow will focus on marketing and health plans downsizing.

Last week the head of marketing Anne Messing's position was "eliminated". She was Jack Kenny's right hand person--many of the layoff's are targeting the Seimen's crowd.

New regime is cleaning house, and I suspect it is bringing in their own people.

This company is in major trouble...new management every 1 1/2 years...insane!!!

No stability, no direction, no loyalty to employees...at the end of the day, who wants to work here anymore!!!

I'll bet all the former Siemens folks that JN brought over are real happy with him. He ruined alot of lives, Quest and Siemens !!
