Morale is the lowest I have ever seen

I have been at LW for over five years and this is without a doubt the lowest I have ever seen the general morale in the sales force. My DOS is miserable - he can only be artificially positive for so long. My colleagues are miserable - someone gets fired here every day. How do you have a successful service company that doesn't value it's employees? Even my customers are miserable. We thought getting out of the backorder would make us happy. Turns out - it didn't. Buying more old phones was pointless when we still have the worst reports, the worst clinical staff, the worst customer service and a business model that has left us with our pants down in a space where physicians and hospitals are not as dumb as we think they are.

This post is so sad to hear and so true. This company was once a great company to work for. Although never perfect (what is) it was starting to have strong leadership in place and the morale was at its highest. Everyone was happy (for the most part). As a sales rep, I loved working here and loved my RSD, before let go (what a joke that was for she was really good). The new LW VP of Sales (auexevo.com man) and lee's fear tactics are rearing its ugly head and the RSD folks that are currently holding a bag of managing a HUGE team are ALL looking for new jobs. I agree with the post above, I have never seen morale so low in this company. At first, when the Swiss team took over they all made it seem they were here to make a positive change, but not true. They say one thing and the next day they do the complete opposite is what the current Directors are saying. Team morale is down, bonuses are being cut soon, shoot I am waiting for an offer letter so hopefully I don't have to go to NSM for what a uncomfortable situation that would be.

The Lifewatch boards were so boring for years and years but suddenly they have exploded with utter revolt in the last few months. Is there ANYONE who can say something nice about this company or is everyone really THAT honked off?

The Vital Connect lies have caused major distrust among the sales force - but aside from that - assume the patch never comes until the end of 2015 or maybe even 2016 or never. How much longer can we keep going with the ACT technology as it stands today? Does anyone care about Actdroid? Does "Dr." SR really think an inside sales force will be able to sell our outdated Motorola and Ozone technology over the phone? I heard the inside sales force people will be at the NSM and that SV plans to downsize each region by 1-2 direct reps in favor of each contractor from West. They can get 2-3 inside reps for the same cost as one direct rep.

Wouldn't surprise me if they took the top 10-20 existing reps to sell VSP (capital) and gave all the ACT sales to the West people to save cost. Who knows. This place is driving me crazy.

Sales business model is changing. LW is about to begin reducing headcount around the country, beginning in smaller markets and bringing in 1099's to manage those markets. Makes perfect sense. And the RSD will manage both. Directs who remain above a threshold will remain directs, if not, those markets will revert to reps who don't have overhead costs associated with them. This is also an easier group of representatives to exchange during an acquisition without severances attached. How do I know? I'm interviewing as an RSD and this is the model being presented during interviews. I share this as I have had friends with this organization speak well of the reps and RSDs but not of mgmt. and leadership. Many of the RSDs (from what I've been told) have been terminated in preparation for this switch and the other couple are going to have their roles shift. This is strictly in preparation for acquisition as I stated previously.

Morale isn't much better at your competitors headquarters either. I have been in medical sales recruiting for 10 years and have never been approached by so many people from the same industry. I don't think any of the companies in your space have quality leaders or any real vision for the future. They are living for the here and now and use you guys like indentured servants for a few years in hopes you will move on so they can replace you at half the salary.

I think it's hysterical that we are now getting "marketing points" for a Vital Connect patch that hasn't even hit the FDA's approvals in-box yet. Just stringing us along... I seem to remember a very similar message at the NSM in Ft. Lauderdale last year and here we are a full year later still saying "Patch is coming any day now!" I was actually one of the people at HRS earlier this year who looked people in the eye and told them we would "soon" be offering the technology. We wore a prototype patch on our body and linked it to an iPhone, pretended it was real, and said "lookie lookie!" This may have been a mildly successful tactic to keep the sales force together long enough to market the company for acquisition, but don't you understand that this is my personal reputation on the line, Lifewatch? Do you even care that we are out here spreading your BULLSHIT Vital Connect lies with OUR names on the business card?

This industry is such a joke - the lucky bastards who started it made millions and now we are all stuck picking up the shit left behind and being nothing more than glorified drug reps without a trunk full of samples

Thanks for the feedback on the regions. What is up with the executive management team? Word is they are clueless on how to run this company and tried selling it to Medtronic but was unsuccessful? And why are they hanging hat on the VSP? No strong pipeline.. the patch is already old news, is the company in trouble?

Seem like the samething happening at cardionet. Unfair quotas that demotivate and are not set equally. Everyones quota should be set/adjusted the same without bs favoritism. Managing by intimidation that you will lose your job. False promises with new devices especially patch. Back orders, defective product, and poor customer service are just a few things that show how clueless management are.

what seems to be going on in this space? I'm interviewing with a competitor, eCardio, but get the impression that the entire space is a mess. I'm all for competition, always have been exposed to it, but this seems a bit different. Seems that the space is under heavy scrutiny and that honesty and transparency don't exist at the level I'm accustomed to. Insight would be welcomed. thank you.

There are a couple of smaller monitoring companies that are closer to normal but CardioNet and LW are by far the worst in terms of corruption, lack of transparency and non-sensical leadership. I have worked for both in some capacity so I actually know. eCardio definitely has its own issues but doesn't seem to be plagued with the perpetual craziness of the other two. If you want a job where you are appreciated and valued, monitoring isn't the place to be. LW churns and burns worse than anyone and offers a culture where every day you wake up and wonder if today will be your last. It's been that way for about 4 years. If you want honesty and transparency - try pharma or some kind of service organization like home health/medical staffing/lab diagnostics, etc.

Funny Lee story. They all seem to sound the same; he invented the laptop, he created cardiac monitoring, he saved the world from a holocaust.
what happened to the manager in the southwest, I heard she's finally gone; at least that's one good thing happening to the company. Hopefully the new manager is competent though based on most of the postings on this site it doesn't seem any of the managers are.

LE has been telling those stories about himself for years and he is so full of bologna! I started 3 + years ago and when I met him back then he was like a doll that kept pulling his own puppet string and does not know when to be quiet. Blah BLAH BLAH! As for the southwest region: they let go of the manager from AZ and put a rep in her place, but unfortunately he too is just “a rep”. Then LW lets go of the northwest manager which was a complete mistake and a shame for she was awesome and the only normal RSD in the company besides maybe CB, everyone really liked and respected her and now both the southwest and northwest regions are being merged together and managed by a rep who frazzled and still has to manage his own territory. Some reps already left after CG got let go and others are miserable and looking. Not to be captain obvious but this is depressing. I am HASTA LA VISTA after NSM

Just get me through this NSM. The last thing I want is to work all weekend. I am sure LW won't mind if I take next M-W off seeing as though we are all donating our family time to this place. I think 6 people in my region are off part or all of next week. Muahhhh hahah. I need to get a 1099 gig to do in my spare time.
