Someone sounds bitter. The guy isn't even at AZ anymore, who cares? Probably someone who got caught not working.

I heard that this guy is a manager for an opening at another company that I'm interested in but I've learned to always pay attention to the negative comments surrounding a manager.

I'm not one of the ones let go but I'll tell you that he laid...off the smart and hardworking reps that were well-liked in the company who often got much praise.

He wanted to gut more people but upper management decided that it was not wise.

My coworkers were ethical people who were being pushed to sell off-label by him and they dared to say that they were uncomfortable doing it!

That is utter bullshit. If the Feds were investigating him then AZ would have fired him at the first smell of an investigation. AZ will never defend anyone at this level. They will always cut bait and then claim the high road that they don't tolerate policy violations like this. It would matter if he was totally innocent; AZ would fire him and make sure the Feds knew it. In fact they would put his head on a pike for all to see what a high integrity company we are.
