Mass Exodus (pc version)

Well they need to hire the right people and I guess they don't.

Includes all management and the Board of Directors. Reps who sell sand in the desert knows what it's like selling Rayaldee with no coverage or very high co-pays, these are the right people and deserved to be given what was promised but were lied to. These reps. leveraged their integrity, relationships and knowledge of CKD for the hopes of the airplane we were all building from the start would get an engine, wings, wheels and gas but din't have an adequate pilot or co-pilot from the start so we were destined to fail, not to say that we have but losing top talent lately doesn't make me very comfortable in staying on this crop duster any longer.

Dear management, the swagger you brought to Opko was not earned at Opko and should have been left at the door after Jim DeMarko's speech at training, "You don't work for Amgen, Questcor, Sanofi, Mallincrot, Genzyme, Keryx, or NextStage any more, you work for Opko." But what did the exAmgen people bring here? exAmgen manager you failed miserably, thanks for waisting 11 months of my life that I'll never get back. I hope all of management will continue to have their failure follow them where ever they wind up when this ends.

I'm no stranger to Cafepharma and have not been on here in years. I had to do my due diligence on Opko since I had never heard of the company prior to interviewing. It seems I dodged a bulllet.

My intentions were sincere and I would have appreciated the opportunity but I'll just say this - perhaps the universe was protecting me from what appears to be quite a fiasco. When I join a company I join it with an intention to stay long term provided that I am treated fairly. It appears there is no long term at Opko and one thing that sets me off is not being paid bonuses that are owed me after earning them. I read in another thread that Opko management is being shady about how reps will get paid bonuses from Q2. Not cool and totally unacceptable. I'm too "old" (by pharma standards) to be farting around with unstable companies and products. More importantly, I won't tolerate any new company that lacks integrity. Been there, done that, got the t-shirt. Beware: they may change their compensation structure so far too many win....then they won't have the money to pay you your bonuses. Nothing like being short changed, oh, $20k after-the-fact. This is my experience with start ups....$20k owed and WHOOPS, they don't have the money to pay it. So, they make an excuse as to why they changed your comp plan after you've completed a quarter. Yes, it happened to me and I'll be damned if I'm going to let that happen to me again. I pray Opko has more integrity than that.

Good luck to everyone still at Opko or is about to join. Perhaps this therapy will take off but it sounds like an impossible uphill battle. It is nice getting stock options when they are low but is bankruptcy on the horizon here? It was $25/share in late 2016 and now it's $6.00.

Unfortunately Opko is under the thumb of someone with an extremely short timeline.

This post has NO credibility whatsoever. First, why would you be even interviewing for a job at a start up if you had such a bad experience at one before? Not buying what you're selling here. Second, you obviously haven't done your homework on the company because the share price has NEVER hit $25. Take your "sincere" intentions elsewhere...

Smart move and well articulated.

Perhaps I misread the stock history charts. Either way, the stock has gone down quite a bit since January. This is a fact. What aren't you "buying?" The fact that I interviewed or that I have been screwed over by start ups in the past? Why wouldn't I interview? Why not check out an opportunity no matter what my past experience? Not sure what your hostility is all about. Nor am I sure of whether or not you are in Opko management or a toxic employee. Either way, you have proved my point: I dodged a bullet.

After reading your response more carefully, I'm leaning toward the fact that you are management or HR. A disgruntled RSS rep would not have reacted this way to my post since I'm essentially siding with them. So, here you go:

$17.78 May 22, 2015. The Opko stock price at its 5-year peak. Is that precise enough for you? You can stop being a prick now. My post has more credibility than ANY other post and that is what really bothers you doesn't it? Yes, I was sincere. It is no surprise to me that Opko disrespected my time and efforts and hired, no doubt, a former Amgen rep - or maybe someone young, hot and stupid who is willing to work for probably $60k. I, on the other hand, expect to be paid what I'm worth. I knew your uncapped bonus and $30k was pie-in-the-sky before ever reading this information on Cafepharma. This site, despite its propensity for being the medium which toxic/disgruntled employees use to air their grievances, provides valuable information (sometimes). Glad you found someone to lowball. Good luck with your new expansion hire.

Insanity...keep doing the same things over and over again and expect different results. Keep hiring sales professionals on the cheap and expect different results. My real thoughts on the expansion recruitment experience? Completely disorganized. Absolute mess. Waste of time. Shady as f**k recruiters with no clue of what they were doing- they played along with the lowballing efforts and refused to say what the salary range was. (Answer: as low as possible). Seriously? Every recruiter should know the salary range and share it. This was a clear effort to get employees as cheaply as possible. You will get what you pay for.

My intention was to stay cordial but since someone in management/HR is actually trying my to call me on the carpet for credibility issues.....well as I said: Good luck to those still at Opko and to the new hires. And, if any specialists were concerned that someone else might be taken for a ride, rest easy. Even without your fair warnings, a savvy professional could see right through the Opko recruitment games.

exAmgen managers are paranoid and can't face the facts that they have little knowledge of the CKD marketplace nor reimbursement. Blithering Booby of a leader we have can't stand up to the Old Man and therefore all of us remain disgruntled and are departing for greener pastures.

I guess that is why they expect to hire experienced reps who do know CKD and reimbursement - for $60k a year base. Laughable. If Opko had the proper managers they could train experienced reps. I personally hate the interview process these days. Some companies take you through seven interviews. They hire the smooth talkers that interview/bullshit well and wonder why their employees don't stay for more than one year. For all the psychology tests, multiple interviews, panel interviews and whatnot companies aren't finding the proper reps.

Not only is 17.78 not precise enough, it's not even close to being correct. The all time high was 19.20 on 06/03/15 and it closed that day at 19.12. And you're also incorrect about who I am - I'm not an Opko management employee. Just calling out posters who claim to be credible but don't have their facts right.

Why are you calling someone out on trivial shit? The poster said he interviewed with the company and confirmed what we all know. OPKO is a hot mess. Who cares if it was 25, 17 or 19? The stock has tanked. Way to look at the big picture! Watch out, the OPKO bean counters are now coming after interviewees lucky enough not to have joined our little shit show! Congrats to the interviewee that dodged that bullet. See what you would have had to deal with? Feeling pretty lucky right about now ain't ya'?

Check the NASDAQ 5Y smart guy. It was 17.78 in 2015. Now go back to counting your beans.

Stop begging and telling lies.It was not.[/QUOT

Uh,uh,uh, okay.....go back to counting you little cross-eyed bean counter. See, there is this thing called Google. Put "opko stocks" in the search bar and it will bring up a chart that shows where Opko was in terms of stock prices. Now you go like a good little cross-eyed bean counter. Google. Opko stocks in the search bar. Look at NASDAQ 5 year highs and lows.

Pfft, stop wasting people's time! Your company is a joke!

Relieved and lucky. Lol!

Here you go bean counter. Check the 5 year highs. The stock was not at 19 a share this past June. Now go cause problems for someone else. You could have hired me (for the right price) but you didn't. Your company wanted to hire on the cheap. Clearly you're one of those they hired cheaply since you can't read a simple NASDAQ chart.

NASDAQ. Before you point fingers at my credibility go check it. May 22, 2015, 5-year high was 17.78. If you're going to continue to argue with me you better show your source.

You could have hired me for the right price but you hired cheap. Now you're trying to justify your lousy decisions through nitpicking verifiable facts. You must be one of the ones they hired for cheap since you can't read a simple NASDAQ chart.
