Managers; how to double dip

I am a salesman with a nice device company right now. I'm on autopilot with my territory.

I want to apply for a managerial position here and double dip. I know guys do it. I'm looking for tips on how to approach the application.

My assumption is that I leave off my current employer so they can't back track to find me there and make up a reason I have a gap in my resume. Any other ideas.

im going to out myself here. I am a double dipping current manager. My real job is with another pharma company. Here is the secret formula. I was hired into my current company and here around the same 2 week window. I didn't have to make up stuff about gaps in my resume. inventiv just can't find out who I work for now because they can't link me to my main company. I'm shielded by the law. In reality the poster is right. This has been very stressful but very lucrative. I would love to tell you more but to much info is a bad thing.

Troll go.

I knew my company was going to have a downsizing. I made a desperate search for a new job before it happened, and that included contract work like inventiv. It just so happened that I was interviewing at 3 companies (2 majors and Inventiv) and was offered two jobs within the same week and both had on site training at different locations at different times. So I accepted both. Its just a random coincidence.

I know that HR has no ability to search your taxes or has access to some national jobs board to see where someone is employed. There is literally no way for an internal auditor at Inventiv to see where you are employed at any one time. I have no social media in my name so they cant see that. Privacy laws shield you from searches. I don't think there is any other way to do what I'm doing than how i did it. Good luck to the guy/girl looking to do it.

"I'm shielded by the law." Really? What law is that?

The law that says your employer doesn't have access to your financial and social security records you moron. This isnt China we live in.

You think this stupid contract company has the ability to research each employee and see what other w-2's they collect yearly? You think they can just call up Uncle Sam and ask about your past tax filings? You think there is a national database at the FBI that indicates where everyone gets income from and that (even if it existed) is searchable to your employer.

Whoever this person who is doing this is right. He cant be caught by a "background search." That's why when we apply we dont just hand over our social security number and thats it. Inventiv NEEDS us to give them our history so they can reach out to old employers. I did a 4 month contract here in 2010. I never listed it on my resume and just showed a gap. My next employer never found it and never asked about it. When I applied here again I added it back in and now work for this BS company.

I'm burning up with praise rage that this guy is most likely breaking 200k this year for putting in 50% of his time at 2 companies. Go get em Tiger.

I would presume that one way to get caught us to be fired when the contract ends and then claim unemployment. Then inventiv could see that you are ineligible because you are currently employed. That might give them some ability to try and claw back your income, maybe?

Working on the weekend is not double dipping...its needing more dough!

Anyone working for crumbs and biscuits knows the deal with the lean game called contract!

Some managers should actually try being reps...its even worse. Biggest joke is when manager blow wind at reps who complain they cant make the rent.

I did it for nearly 7 years. Averaged 250-300/yr. won 4 trips and numerous prizes and awards from both companies, twice in the same year!! Two cars was sweet, girl friend drove one and we alternated days to be safe. Once, two meetings on same dates....got out of one by faking illness. Quit them both and started my own consulting business. Miss the easy money, but it did become a hassle.

LIES, no contract ran for 7 years.

This was done with a major Pharma company, asshole. I would never lower myself to work with a contract company......too many loser wannabes like you.

Hmmmm......if you never worked for a contract company then why the hell would you be on the inventive site? Makes no sense. I call BS all of the way. LOSER.

This sounds like the premise for a new TV sitcom.

Actually the managerial double dip is the easiest dip to pull off. No one checks your schedule. You are home all the time. You do field rides and can always cut them short to handle business at company 2.

What does a pharma contract manager make 110? if you double that is a great experience.
