Maintaining DEI status

Attended a recent conference and JNJ had a booth up with a private innovation suite. I was expecting a behind the screen look at new products, etc. It was all about DEI and heath disparities. This place has gotten out of control.

What new products? Prod Dev teams are not yet diverse enough to product new products quickly.

Only reason this place has performed better over recent time is bc DEI and hiring practices. Diverse leaders drive growth. Remember JNJ’s 100 mil investment on racial equality….lets see they follow thru with it.

It is going to be really
Important to maintain what we have in the past. We need to continue to attract the most diverse talent for the sake of our business.
The question is: is this a troll?

Because at this point the proof is obvious: "diversity" as currently implemented at J&J has weakened the company. Outcomes in hiring have eroded outcomes in the pipeline. Worse, for individuals in the targeted-groups who are truly competent they are often painted with the same "didn't earn it" attitude applied to their peers - the ones who truly aren't competent. The competent receive the same forced over-acceptance that the incompetent do. That must be hard to live with.

I'm optimistic about John Reed, but look at the sledge hammer he had to take to the place. The layoffs and re-focus has hardly been surgical, but it is necessary.

Why are you optimistic about John R? He still has to parrot the corporate dei mantra

Is 2025 the year that we get rid of the $100 million investment in the DEI experiment?
No! Will take a few more years of poor Credo results or political pressure before plug is pulled. There are too many people that believe they are still working for the pre-Gorsky J&J. Will only get worse as focus shifts to Wall St. End of 24 target stock price was $175. Will not be close. 2025 will be another challenging year.
