Lyrica LOE

December 2018. Don't worry, CR will save us.

Maybe this Layoff will clear the dead weight up in corporate, since they are the clowns who can't find a replacement? The reps always sell the hell out of a drug. It's almost always corporate's fault for failures. Yet, sales gets decimated and those brownnosing executive asses get reassigned promotions!

Keep dreaming. We’re toast.

No they don't cross clusters. According to the way it's been done numerous times in the past - layoffs Sept/Oct new alignment (if there's even enough left with Chantix, Flector) starting clean January.

Do you have any idea how many people were laid off due to Lipitor losing its patent. Lipitor LOE = lots of people gone my friend. And by the way- only that cluster was affected.

Iirc, lipitor went off patent end of 2011. I was in the Lyrica cluster, A or 1, at the time and they wiped us out as well as cluster 3 or C around 2012 or so.

I would like to stay here two more years then retire. If I get laid off at the end of the year I'll be OK though finacially. I do have plans to retrain and go on to a new career. I don't need the money. I'm in good shape and look at least 15 years younger than I am. I just like to keep busy.
This career doesn't challenge me intellectualy. I get bored a lot here at Pfizer due to bad access to offices. If I could actually get into offices , talk to providers and do my job it would be ok. As we all know those days are gone and will never return.

It's time to move on. The heyday of pharmaceutical sales is long gone. It's time to move on. IT, financial, real estate are all growing industries. It's time for me to bite the bullet soon, retrain and get into a new industry.

I wish everyone good luck. I know whatever they say at the years end there will be layoffs. Put some money aside for retraining and living expenses. It will be OK. Well all get through it and come out with more satisfying careers in the end.

Pfizer has wonderful people working for them. They just can't keep us in a dying obsolete job.

You are spot on. Pharma reached its peak and has been cratering ever since. The problem is that the politically inept and sales-incompetents have largely been weeded out. What remains are those who need to be moving onwards. Unless you are close to retirement, think about your future.

All of those careers that you state are all ones that 99.9% of pharmacy reps are not qualified/capable enough to actually be successful. If you are a pharma rep stay as long as you can in your “career” and bleed it dry because a real job where you actually have to sell something will be a rude awakening for you.
