Looking beyond the smoke screens

Let's see, RD in SF, Sea, Det, Bos just off the top of my head. Actually that's about half of the total people promoted I think. I'm sure the facts won't sway you from your narrative tho. Enjoy your misery

So 1/2 the RDs promoted didn't have Medicaid coverage, I didn't realize 1/2 the states had Medicaid coverage. Oh wait they don't! As far as misery you get what you give in life & what goes around comes around.

Good math, nice logic. I'm guessing the reason you haven't been promoted isn't bc of Medicaid coverage. I'm not even the person you picked a fight with. Just someone who's sad you work here.

Tell me how many reps promoted to RD didn't have Medicaid coverage!!!!

Look, pure and simple: obviously it's easier to gain marketshare and sell if you have coverage in your state. Everyone knows that. However, it's also possible to get promoted without coverage. You litterally have to work that much harder, and litterally fight for every script you can get. Being successful in a state without coverage only makes you look better than the rest of the reps in the country. You are also miles above the competition when you're applying for an RD role and will most likely get the job over anyone else, especislly those that had coverage.

The problem that occurs is, there isn't many reps out there that both want to be promoted and have the numbers to be promoted in states that don't have coverage.

How bad do you want it?

You made valid points until you said your miles ahead of other candidates when you have the numbers in states without coverage. It's more to it than just numbers cause there's RDs who definitely didn't have the numbers to rave about. The Atlanta position is a great example of that.

There is always the right time and place for everything. When that RD got promoted it was alot easier to become an RD a couple years ago. The company was expanding and we were trying to build a culture where we promote from within. Maybe he was the only one available at the time. It's alot harder now that we've grown and have so many top performers. But there is another expansion coming with more RD positions .... Just food for thought

From my perspective promoting a rep to RD after being in the field less than 6 months is bad judgment. It was even worse judgment to give that RD another shot after they failed miserably on the west coast. This shouldn't be a kiss ass contest we do answer to the investment community.

From my perspective. Atlanta region seems to be doing just fine. When he managed SF, the region did just fine as well. This happens because all the reps are well seasoned sales professionals. They learn to help each other out and "manage up" when the RD is inexperienced. You learn to manage your manager if they aren't so called "leaders". Alot of these regions will do just fine without an excellent RD.

I think you all fail to remember that we started with this company knowing that it was young. There are growing pains associated with such a young company. They gave us stock options and continue to give us more and more benefits to staying with the company. No I am not in higher management nor will I ever be because I enjoy spending too much time with my family and friends and it seems like those who are regional directors spend absolutely no time with them. I love the idea of being able to promote from within however there are times that we probably should bring people in from outside because they're not enough qualified people for the job just because someone can sell doesn't mean they can teach and/or manage. Or perhaps they should create an rd program that must be completed prior to being accepted into their new position as a regional director. I know we want to move fast and grow quickly as a company however when you put the wrong people in the wrong positions you lose really great people because most of the time people do not leave a company because of the company itself but their manager. I love this company I see it as my own which is something they've always wanted us to do. I truly believe that if you are unhappy here that you shouldn't be here because you are bringing us down as an organization and our company has done nothing but give us the tools to excel. Next time you decide you want a b**** and moan about the company make sure you start talking to all of the recruiters out there and see decide whether or not the grass is greener.

whatever. This company is giving the damn ADHD drug they've been hyping up for the last 4 years to Shire. Surprise we don't even get to sell the drugs in our pipeline, just these shitty XRs.

You don't know what you're talking about moron. Different ADHD med, which is yet another great thing to happen for this growing & exceptional company that we work for.

Hahahahaha. Typical CP bitcher. Has no idea what they are talking about but they won't let that stop them. Completely different drug. And this is a great thing for us!
