Anyone care to guess what the number will be in December 2011?
.............in December 2012?
.............in December 2013?
.............in December 2014?

It's been nice knowing you.

The last quarterly report showed >38500 employees with a goal of 35000 by the end of the year.

Indiana has been impacted most of any geographic area of the Lilly footprints globally.

Facilities have been turning into ghost towns for a decade now.

Anyone who works in Indianapolis has seen the mass firings.

The only loyalty is to the generous dividend.

Why the citizens of the State of Indiana aren't outraged is completely unfathomable.

Not only did this huge impact occur under the gubernatorial leadership of an ex-exec, but they occurred with the sponsorship of the tax payers of Indiana to the tune of billions.

It's brilliant.

No wonder the pharmaceutical industry never asked for a bailout. Knee deep in money even during the "worst" of times. It is so obvious why there haven't been any new drugs for a generation. Just milk that blockbuster cow until the cow is dead.

Keep all of your really critical notes about work in a private place. Don't ever make your precious contact info, detail, etc, part of the company data base. It's really your only protection. All you are is overhead, just an expensive warm body that must be keep cool in summer, and warm in winter. And clothed, fed, washed, insured, retired, etc. YOU deserve to take care of yourself, first and foremost, cause good old Mothership Lilly is not a friendly place. not anymore. I like to have a private smart phone where I keep personal information, in addition to the company provided Blackberry. Anyone have any more tips?

It is survival time!

* Includes both Current State Income Tax Paid or Payable and Deferred State Income Tax Expense. Thus, Current State Income Tax Paid, as well as the effective state corporate income tax paid rates, should both be lower than the above amounts for these two Corps.

For the most recent year, the effective state corporate income taxes paid by these 9 large Indiana Corps was an even lower 0.96%.

Eli Lilly is one of only several very profitable Big Corps in the country, that instead of paying state corporate income taxes, has received state corporate income tax refunds in total for the last 12 years.

It is difficult for me to understand how a State like Indiana could be so mean-spirited to lay off all of these State Educators and other State Employees, and also cut State Medicaid Benefits, while at the same time, permit a large Corporation like Eli Lilly, that generated a massive $45.7 bil of core pretax income in the past 12 years, to not pay a dime of State Income Tax in total for those 12 years.

A much better topic for discussion would be: Lilly Indiana Unemployment.

Or, the total number of careers nixed by Lilly Management, 2005 - present.

Does anyone have access to these numbers?
