Uh, Ethicon doesn't provide energy, staplers, sutures and mesh? You are a fucking jackass. It doesn't matter because the robot is going to eat everyone's lunch in the very near future. If you don't see that coming you are dumber than your post.

Uh moron, you dont have a bovie, no ES disposables (pad, pencils, electrodes) those items are kind of needed to be able to standardize.

Prove it. Share a link and educate us. Show us where the cordless harmonic is. Show us the Voyant. Of course, Bovie's Seal and Cut would be nice too. While you're at it, I'm sure Covidien is working on a combination device. Pull that up as well.

We'll be all the smarter for it and you'll have the satisfaction of being right.

Umm, wait 6 months and Ascent and Sterilmed will be reprocessing your devices and bye - bye revenue. Ascent already has the 510K for Impact and Sterilmed is just around the corner with their 510K.

Once your Autosonix device launches, you'll understand what EES has been going through over the last 10 years with Harmonic reprocessing. You'll enjoy a few months of growth but then one day Ascent/Sterilmed will take your place at 1/3 of the cost.

Your Autosonix will experience a shorter life span than Ligasure before reprocessing gets a hold of it.

There's a reason why Stryker bought Ascent and JNJ bought Sterilmed. They'll be the ones selling your devices at 1/3 of the cost.

Get over yourself Covidien rep. You provide absolutely no value. What are you going to tell the surgeon who went to school for 12 years? Just because you took a two week course on electrosurgery and can tell a scrub tech how to pull a device out of sterile packaging, does not make you clinical. You are nothing more then a scrub tech. "Hey doc, look at me! I'm in scrubs and know how to seal a vessel!" Are you kidding me? You are nothing more then a copier salesman in scrubs. No one cares about your fancy bovie. That's all it is. Why do you think there are 7 other companies with fancy bovies? "Hey doc, do you want the 5mm device or the 10mm device...sure, I'll turn on the generator and then I'll sit here and hope that you acknowledge me while I am in the room".
 






copier salesman in scrubs is a great TAG for all of us. We all sell the same widgets with a different name ...do we really sell anymore or just admin contracts ...Thank about it sparky

Not sure what your point is. I haven't seen any reps claiming they are better than anyone. Nor does anyone on here claim they are a surgeon. We do have many reps that are talented when it comes to selling energy, just as other companies do. To say all we do is plug in the generator makes you sound rediculous, as anyone in this industry knows what our job entails. I am not afraid to say that their are some very good sales reps that sell copiers and I would have no problem being compared to them. My post was just to say that the show is never over as new products and technologies will come to market.

You my friend are a dipshit! I have been doing this for 10 years and I guarandamntee you I have walked many surgeons through procedures. I had surg onc last week tell me if it werent for my knowledge his patient would probably have a colostomy. Does this make me feel important, powerful, no but this and 300k a year does. To top it off I probably work about 15 hours a week so that hourly wage is a real kick in the pants. Now go suck off1

covidien are striving towards wireless, j&j have a new energy platform on the way, olympus not doing much with thunderbeat, applied trying to get advanced bipolar to market and intuitive still have the monopoly in robot technology - there is a slice of the market for all of the above... too many ego trippers here looking for attention.

These guys laugh at you when your not in the room. You are a rep, that's all. You have no medical training. 2 weeks in corporate and getting to wear scrubs doesn't count. You have no control over anything. You can be fired at any
moments notice and noone reports to you. You are at the bottom my friend. Oh, and $300k? You must be the only one in the company, because 99% of reps only make $150k at most. You might get close 1 year but you will become a liability after that. Now go cater some lunches and walk around the OR wasting peoples times.

I heard that too. Ethicon's former president is Canadian. He left "to pursue other interest" after 25 years with J&J. Rumor is he went to be a liaison to broker the deal between J&J and Titan. Thats how the SurgRX deal went down when I worked for them. I've asked several J&J people and they have similar info. Nobody has the whole story, but it isn't hard to piece it all together.
