I work for another pharma company...you know, one with ethics and that actually signed the PhRMA guidelines...

Anyway, I overheard a rep talking about Lexapro today. I am not even in the antidepressant market, but to hear her slam Prozac, Zoloft, Paxil CR, Effexor XR, Remeron and all of the others, it was almost laughable. She completed violated the law in her comparisons of drugs and skimmed over the facts of Lexapro 3A4 metabolism, 3rd tier formulary positioning, 20mg showing no better efficacy than 10mg and the many other problems with Lexapro...I talked to the rep in my team that sells against her, and I'm not surprised that she's losing such tremendous market share to us on a weekly basis...

Forest reps, you're done...get with a real company that pays YOU, not the Doctors...this company doesn't make YOU rich and hurts the patients; it only benefits the docs and the senior management...Good luck....seriously, GOOD LUCK...You'll need it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you for the post. It's just unbearable to see what reps do to get scripts. I've seen these Seattle reps come in limos dressed in tuxedos to pick up two high prescribing docs to take them out on the night and spending $10,000 on them. The RN came up to me and told me all about it. How pathetic!!!!
 












Forest doesn't get nailed because most of these derogatory posts are pure bullshit. Tuxedos, limos, & 10K ... nigga please! Bullshit boys. Take a deep breath, that ain't no rose.
 






Tuxedos, limo, $10,000 is not bullshit because I talked to the Seattle doc!!! Trust me you two Forest dipshits in Seattle, WA know who you are. One recently got promoted to feild trainer. Guess he's gonna train you guys to be whores for your high prescribers.
 






Bottom line: Lexapro is sold to pediatricians, even though that is illegal...Lexapro's Forest is not signed up to the PHARMA guidelines, and so spends out of control and makes all reps look like bribing whores...it has increased risk of drug-drug interactions because of its P450 3A4 inhibition...20 mg showed no greater efficacy than 10mg in clinical trials...it is not covered on 90% of formularies...the list goes on and on...

I FULLY AGREE with the OP....Lexapro and Forest are a big SCAM and make the whole industry look like CRAP doing what they do! Next time you people see a Lexapro rep doing illegal things, write down the time, place, doc, etc. and report his/her ass to the FDA!
 






p450 3a4 inhibition? you are smoking crack...lexapro is the least inhibitive....linear dose response...so 20 is more effective than 10, and no formulary? lexapro in on over 90% of formularies...where do you get your info? Weak! As for illegal activities...I agree...I dont care who it is...you see it...report it. I find it hard to believe the stuff I see posted for many companies throughout cafepharma...but if any is true...those reps are lame and should be nailed...any company. Dont lump Forest in w/ individual acts.

Ok OK OK you are right, we did not sign the Pharma Guidlines! Maybe, Just maybe it is because we are not a manufacturer. If you had a clue, you would know that PHARMA stands for Pharmaceutical MANFACTURING Association. This means that we can't sign it because we are not a manufacturer and not a member. As a company, we made a decision to self govern ourselves and institute our own rules that closely mirror the Pharma guidlines. Take a closer look at Novartis, Wyeth, Pfizer, who are using smoke and mirrors to take doctors golfing and fishing. Confirmed case in my territory: ran the receipt through the clubhouse restaraunt. That is classy...oh but I forgot that their company signed the Pharma guidlines. Get a clue and take a look around big boy. It is great to have solid products and to work for a solid company. I got to go...going to take a 1000.00 lunch to the doctors office...give me a break!

I work for Forest in one of the Top 10 divisions in the nation--we are not allowed to spend more than $500 for lunches--I accidently went over one time when I fed 60 people (my fault for not getting the total before they delivered), and my manager came unglued. I had to call the expense overage department and it was a huge mess. There may have been a day when managers would turn their heads, but they have recently cracked down. They just fired a 14-year rep who has been in President's Club for 8 years running. They don't mess around. I know there are still some reps that have maintained these unethical practices, but I assure you that managers do not support their actions.

I TAKE Lexapro and don't work for someone else and I assure you that it is not a SCAM. I have no idea as to what the marketing ethics are like at Forest. I don't really care, but I will tell you the science is good. The stuff WORKS! I had previously tried prozac and zoloft with no real results except for a ton of side effects. Lexapro has been a gift for me.
 






You're 'feeling better' because you have a mental disease...the funny part about mental disease is that whether you take Lexapro, Celexa, Zoloft, Prozac, placebo or WHATEVER, 7 out of 10 times, you're going to get better...MIND OVER MATTER, my dear.....

Compared to the rest of the SSRI's (Zoloft, Prozac, Paxil, etc.) LEXAPRO is still a SCAM!!!!! The worst of the bunch in efficacy...the most shady sales team....the worst market practices...

This is a pointless debate. What is anyone doing besides bitching. Look Forest just posted higher than expected profits based on Lexapro. If you have a problem with that then nail them. Contact somebody that can do something. If you work for a large company like Pfizer and you hear stories of what is going on with Forest reps report it up the chain. I think Pfizer would like to not be the only company to $400 million for off-label use. Or just continue bitching if it makes you feel better.
