Leaving Shire. Base salary question

buy and bill really like that qualifies you more than someone else!!!!!!!!
buy and bill is a joke when companies say buy and bill experience required as if it is so difficult to understand
its not rocket science its not even high school science

Hater. Get into it then. If it’s so easy and it obviously pays more, why aren’t you doing it? Oh that’s right, because you fill sample closets and do coast to coast details.

You don’t have a clue. Obviously you’ve never sold in oncology, orphan disease or rare disease. Not all jobs have doctors write rxs on a script pad and then the patient goes to cvs. Do you ever wonder why those high paying bio-tec jobs you see on linked in say must have buy and bill experience? Well don’t worry yourself with them. Just move on.

to the buy and bill person.... It’s really not that hard to understand or do. And you have your reimbursement Managers now, so even easier. Totally overrated. Don’t flatter yourself.

Yeah but back when I was doing all that we didn't... So while it may be easier for you shlubs now. Wasn't always

Turnover here is getting worse by the day. 3 people have given notice in my Zone in the past 2 weeks. Sad day for Shire.
It is sad, however, I would prefer to see people leave on their own (hopefully for a better opportunity) than to be fired for some “performance” excuse made up by leadership to cut headcount because they can’t take responsibility for their poor decisions(ped/Adult split, Mydayis forecasting, etc.).

Or because they want to get around the WARN Act and not pay out severances.

I'm sure I'll be called an idiot, moron, loser and all of the other things that go along with asking a simple question on here but I have faith there will be at least one decent human being on here.

I'm leaving shire neuroscience. I'm sure you can figure out why. I was new to pharma, been here 8 yrs so I've never taken another pharma job. Base is 88k. How much of a bump in salary can I ask or expect with a new company?

15% at least.. FYI always interview with 2 or more companies.. at least you tell them that. Always inflate what you make so you can get more. You should easily get over 100k if you play it right

The best advice I can give is to not disclose your TRUE base salary of 88k. There is no way a new employer can verify this anyway. I guess they could ask for a pay stub but they never do. With your amount of experience, I would tell the new company that your current base salary is AT LEAST $100k. It would be very believable (88k is quite low) and they won’t even bat an eye. They should make you a haigher offer based on that amount. I would at least ask for $110k. This is how I have been able to get raises in this industry! Good luck!

Yes I agree with this post. Very good advice!
