layoffs in January









There may be layoffs planned for January, even firings and early retirements. That with standing, I don't work in GRPD so, it appears I'm exempt from what will be happening soon.
 




















Who cares about you sales people? The scientists that do the work are the real talent. And the incompetent management that makes the scientists do stupid shit is pathetic.
 












Like I was saying, the scientists are very good - its the layers and layers of middle and upper scientific management that are imbeciles. The actual scientists that do the work are told what to do and their advice and input is totally ignored. For example the DVP of oncology Davidsen has probably no idea that his directors and associate directors are pulling the wool over his eyes, or maybe he does.

This is the typical of the attitude of the scientific staff of GPRD. They blame management for their inability to discover anything. Yes management is bad, but you guys aren't much better. No other major Pharma companies internal discovery effort has as long of a losing streak as Abbott's GPRD.

Actually, I think the postings on this board exemplify why this co. is on a losing streak. Questions and opposing opinions are just not tolerated; one man fights the next if any salient points are raised. Things continue status quo because no one wants new ideas here. Staff merely want to protect their little place in the AbbVie universe. If that means ridiculing someone else in order to do that, it is done. It's a friggin turf war here with multiple factions everywhere. There is more focus on protecting what is in place than moving on. This place is a hotbed of narcissists who really have no business thinking they are anywhere near "excellent".

98 percent of those on this site are salesforce. The other 2 percent are the people who quit and the people who got fired. I know this because I am a narcissist and I know everything. Now go away with your silly comments. I work at Abbott so I am the best and I don't need to hear any other position. I have been here for 20 years doing the same thing over and over and I know it is perfect because if it weren't my excellent bosses at Abbott would have told me.
