Layoffs in IT Today

There were layoffs in IT today, both management and individual contributors. Don't know the details yet, maybe someone in the know can add to this post.

Is this true? I have IT sources that call this is BS. In fact maybe misinformed poster as many ITers were supposedly transferred and some promoted

Probably outsourced to Wipro in India. Abbvie was working behind the scenes with Nancy Berce at Abbott who's the master of IT outsourcing. Luckily she is retiring at Abbott soon.

The IT layoffs are indeed true. Too early for the details or how deep they went, buy that information will come out in the next few days. At this point, it is not clear if the layoffs went beyond just the IT folks.

You are a moron. You never texted anyone? You don't twitter?? You are from the dark ages.

The ITers, from my source, were given lateral transfers and several were promoted. No one heard on any direct layoffs but if they choose not to transfer they will be laid off.

IT is healthy at Abbvie !

Go back in your cave !!!

What a dum bloke you are LMAO !!!

I keep hearing in the industry and from recruiters about a massive layoff in "IT" around February/March timeframe. Is this true? Any specifics to this that can be shared.

I know that that question stings, but I think the poster may have been asking a simple question. It seems that some people are still trying to get some perspective. Some say what happened is the new normal. It's for all that read this to truly answer this question.

Live long and prosper.
