Layoffs are coming

I am not in sales, but was in a meeting today where the new R&D guy discussed big changes coming that will affect many significantly. That he hates to do it because everyone has been so nice to him, but things need to be done to make Takeda a lean and agile drug maker. Details are to come out in the next couple weeks and changes are to be done by the beginning of June.

Thanks Donald Trump!

I was in the same webex. It's not a joke. I know this is mostly a sales people board, but R&D is going to take a huge hit. Site closures, whole areas of R&D gone. CV, metabolic, inflammation. Even areas that are being kept will be affected too. More R&D outsourcing as well. AP's MO. Did the same thing when he was at Sanofi-Genzyme.

Have no idea about sales. Just R&D is all that was talked about since this was an R&D townhall. No numbers of layoffs were given, but it looks fairly large. Not just in the US, but globally. Since several areas of R&D are being eliminated, the numbers will not be small.

I call BS to layoff talk! I am thankful everyday for a well paying job with nice benefits! I work hard for the company and my family is being taken care of in a fair fashion!! Be thankful for your blessings.

"But Entyvio is only one piece of Takeda's strategy for Weber, who took on the CEO title last year and is Takeda's first non-Japanese leader and pledged the company will see growth during its current fiscal year. Toward that end, he is cutting about $1 billion from the company budget, in part by slashing 3,000 jobs"

Hey Brae: So let's keep POSITIVE!!! Negative posts are destructive to the morale and future success of our company! Chill

the managers are all going to a meeting in Chicago 2nd week of April...both sides. Anybody have any insight as to what is going to happen there?

Probably because they need to prep for our much needed reorganization, please!!!!! I can't do it with my current manager much more. 2.5 years of her fire drills and passive aggressive style is all I can handle.
