Layoffs and expansion freeze?

Wow, is that 2 or 3 layoffs for this company within about a yearish? Sounds like they are very bad with both logistics and training. Is it beer/vodka:thirty yet? I bet it is for some of you guys *cough cough*

Is it true that Axsome laid off the bottom 10% of their sales force and the new hires are now on hold because of a freeze on company expansion?
There is no way they would do that! The product hasn’t even reached the 1 year mark since we were out in the field. This is a small company that takes pride in their culture.

It’s true. Manager just told our team.
Less than a year in market and already laying off.

Drug companies are always bad but I’ve never worked for one this deceitful from the start. Laying off this early in the launch is just another red flag.

Someone tell Brad he can no longer say “You never walk alone” with a straight face

Not even 6 months after acquiring Sunosi, they did a quiet and sneaky realignment, displaced reps and offered crappy packages. These people can’t be trusted, after all, they’re castaways from 3rd tier pharma companies!

LOL. firing shitty reps is a far cry from "layoffs"; everyone I've heard that's gone had virtually no sales for 9 months post launch.

This is my 4th drug launch. All but 1 waited for at least the 2 year mark before realignment and layoffs. 1 did have layoffs under a year and was soon smoked by the competition, even though we were first to market, and many of us were laid off in a second wave by year 2. In retrospect, poor planning. Not saying that will happen, but it’s definitely something to pay attention to. Is Axsome being too reactive? Or does NYC actually have a plan other than oh crap better do something quick and/or $ell. I feel sorry for my displaced coworkers. I know a couple of them left stable jobs. Time will tell if this was a good gamble for the rest of us.
