Layoffs 100%

Some people are being laid off with end date being December 31, 2024. They are being told not to tell anyone and that only managers should know. Confirmed 100%. Boehringer Ingelheim is trying to keep the layoffs under wraps. Does anyone have any other information on what departments are being laid off?

My ex works in field sales and never had a Bris which was a turnoff for me hence I he never got laid.

Sounds like you already have all the details. Also realize that managers are the 2nd to last people to know. The severed employee is literally the last to know but managers are not given advanced notice.

So basically you’re fishing for information. Nice try but get your story straight 1st.

All that said, have to believe layoffs are almost a certainty. The company can start with the bloat in brand marketing. They ‘do’ a lot but what value does it bring the organization? Very poor ROI. Then work on right sizing the sales force.

With the number of people who have recently left the company (or are planning to leave) the potential for vast layoffs lessens. There is basically a hiring freeze. And a replacement for Timmo wont be announced for a while.

2024 and 2025 are gonna be lean years with very few people getting 100% of their bonus (whether VPR or IC). If you haven’t already, update that résumé and get some interviews scheduled.

I read someplace else that the company is proposing unlimited PTO before next layoffs happen. You may want to get aggressive in the job hunt bc you’ll eventually lose your accrued vacation.

Fun times at BIPI.

What are you talking about unlimited PTO and loss of accrued vacation days?? Makes no sense- please explain
When you leave the organization; either terminated or voluntary, you are owed a percentage of your accrued PTO. When a company goes to ‘unlimited’ PTO, you stop accruing. Therefore, when you leave, there is no PTO for the company to pay you out on. Years ago, we got our PTO on 1/1 each year and we could all back up to 5 days. Then they did away with the sell back option. Then they moved to an accrual basis so they didn’t have to pay out massive PTO money upon departure. Now the company is finally wising up and realizing they need to do ‘unlimited’ to avoid any accrual payout. That could save the company a decent amount of $$$ that they would have normally had to pay out.

Also, companies that offer ‘unlimited’ PTO tend to see employees take LESS time off due to feelings of guilt and not wanting to be see as abusing the PTO system.

yet another way the company is gonna try to screw the working man (or woman). Talk about getting douched. Except not the Summer’s Eve kind. This is straight up Clorox.
