An appeal will be entered within the next couple of days.
what is the status of this?
think there will be another lawsuit from the new spinnoff from abbott....appears that they will be treated the same as the hospira people were treated....maybe they have learned from the suit to the point where they may be able to defend themselves from the immoral way that mw and cronies treat the employee.
latest news is
One of the Appeals court judges died. Now they have to figure out what to do. They may do the appeal all over again or just let the other two decide. If they let the other two decide we are probably screwed in the that the bitch on the court was very obviously not sympathetic to the employees. She figured if the retirement eligible were allowed to access their Abbott retirement while still working for HSP. Funny how it is OK for Chris got $4MM to keep him whole and the new guy Mike got $12MM so he wouldn't lose out on his retirement.
Apparently the unlucky judge forgot to cash his checks from MW and then was involved in an unfortunate hunting accident.
In 1973, I went to work for Abbott as a part-time worker at the age of 16 teen. I got my job through a high school job program. The company was located in NC. When I turned 18 years of age I became a permanent employee. I really enjoyed my job, and decided to try to retire with this company. In 2002, the company I thought I would get to retire with closed it's doors with no warning at all. One day you go to work, and the next day you're told your job will be ending the following year. Hear I was almost 47 years old, and needed to be 50 to be able to retire early.
Before the company closed I put in for a job with another Abbott company located in NC, so I could finish up my time so I could retire with this company. There was others that did the same thing. We left our homes, and rented places to stay. We would travel back and forth to our families, and love ones. There was a lot of hardships, and personal struggles we had to endure. We all felt like we had came so close to our retirement that we couldn't give up. After living away from my family for 1 year and 8 months, Abbott decided to do a spin off. Abbott became known as Hospira.
I stayed on until I reached a little over 50 years old. My retirement wasn't what it should of been. I believe I lost about a third of my pension, and no medical benefits. I worked for that company I once loved for almost 33 years. I gave it all of my good years, and so did others. I lost not once, but twice. My only hope, and prayer is that justice will be served for all of the employees who gave their best and all. The employees who helped build that business. Thank you!
All of Abbott and Hospira's corporate officers and CEO's (Miles White & Chris Begley)
Thank you from the bottom of their heart(Which I doubt they have). Your contribution to the company will not be forgotten(as they relax in their mansions and enjoy golf everyday together at the country club).
It's people like you that has made this company a special and wonderful experience for them to be your leader. They know that the feeling for them is mutual.
Thanks again and best of luck in your future.
Remember....... Honesty, integrity and just doing what is right is the foundation of Abbott and Hospira.
Question: Should we think that things will be muchly improved and turn the other cheek or should we wait for the new guy to take more away?
How much longer do we have to wait for true justice to be served for all of the employees? We have been waiting for seven years for justice. Time keeps flying by, and we all are getting older. I hope to be around when all is said, and done.
