laid off DM

gonna stare out window and think about what happened to me-lots off empty juice box containers on floor! and tissues...

Well I have been with AZ for over 20 years and was a Circle winner more than once with excellent performance ratings and was let go in this round. I have a lawyer and will not accept anything this suck ass company and will not be signing any release papers. I hope that I am not alone and that many more sue the shit out of AZ.

Entitlement loser. You got laid off, everyone's number gets called sooner or later.....yours was this round. Reps get laid off weekly if not daily, as you discovered this week those awards didn't help. Pretty sure AZ's legal team has this covered and another reason why they have their names well in advance. Legal issues

So let me ask you.... If you left AZ for a better job (pay, etc) and AZ had to hired someone less experienced than you (or anyone at all) would AZ be allowed to sue you? They would have most likely taken a financial loss while looking for your replacement, right? Would you be the "bad guy" then and open to a lawsuit? Why did you leave your last company or any company for that matter? ECONOMICS, and better opportunity, period.

I'm not for corporate layoffs however it frustrats me when people get laid off and get angry and threaten to sue however when they are recruited or find a "better" job and leave their current company that's ok, right? Hypocrite!

Well that's a big time 3 to 5 year gamble my friend. These corporate law-dawgs will drag things out as long as they can in hopes they can outlast you. And unless your brother is Mark Zuckerberg I guarantee with their resources they WILL outlast you. Best case scenario is you're gonna wait 3 years minimum and lots of lawyers fees to get the same thing they're offering now. Don't be a fool.

When you can prove either as an individual or as a group that you were wrongfully terminated or targeted based on something other than performance, location, or experience then you can sue and often win these suits. In the case of AZ if you have the same qualifications as the person who was retained and the only difference is age, salary, race, sex, or sexual orientation, then you have a very strong case. It is true though that AZ will use whatever it takes to stop you because if you win then there will be even more cases to come.

No, you don't have a lawyer. You are a fucking liar!. You won't sue AZ! You're full of shit! If you are a DM, you are a useless non-revenue producing leech. DM's serve literally no purpose, other than to push paperwork. All of you should have been fired!

It's absolutely hilarious to hear all of the arm chair lawyers out there talking about suing AZ, as if that scares them! The Supreme Court has all but gutted any age discrimination lawsuits coming before them. In a mass layoff, where the WARN Act comes into play, you can bet your sweet ass that AZ triple checked to make sure they were acting within the law. They will ultimately send out a breakdown to all those affected showing demographics, etc. I can promise you, you won't find a lawyer anywhere to take a case like this.

Just move on. You are one of the ones that was "too busy" to look for something else, or thought you were one of the "safe ones". You wasted your time, and now look what has happened. But you are not alone. More than likely everyone that got canned did the same thing. The survivors will fall back into their little comfort zones, and pretend there won't be another cutback, but it will. Sadly, 99% of those caught next time will have been "too busy" to look for something else. And so it goes...

Maybe, but there are many instances where AZ has dragged out a legal challenge for years and then finally pays a cash settlement to make the case go away. Even though a lawyer will take up to half of your settlement, there are many cases where the ex employee cashed in by being patient and persistent. There are also several cases where Human Resources was found at fault by the judge or jury.

Really? Can you site even one case at AZ where a successful discrimination lawsuit was decided and settled in favor of the employee. All I am asking is one, where we can verify what you site.

One in Florida in Oncology, two in Texas, one in Ohio, two in CA and that is just the last 2 years and only the ones I know of.

I believe that poster #15 asked for information about cases where they can be verified; i.e. employee names, locations, time, reason for suit/settlement, etc. That shouldn't be a problem, if you have the real info, and it's not just employee rumors that have spread. I am not talking about "mutual consent" cases either.

AZ is used to lawsuits. Hell, they dealt with over 20,000 at once for Seroquel! Discrimination cases have become almost impossible to prove because of the SC, especially age discrimination.

These cases never go to court, AZ settles and then a disclaimer is signed stating that you will never discuss the specifics of your case. They negotiate their way out of these cases to avoid bad publicity.

I know this happened to one of my ex district members. It took him two years to collect but AZ finally paid him to make the case go away. Nobody knows how much but he bought a much nicer car and house afterwards.
