just left an endo office this morning and was told that they are rolling all of the janumet pt's over to kombiglzye b/c its cheaper. In this economy, patients are hurting and they feel like it is wrong to keep them on a more expensive medicine that does the same thing.
I feel a migraine coming on....
How can we compete? Kombiglyze and Janumet are not the same... once vs. twice a day dosing, less GI and it is cheap. It's hard to compete with better tolerance, easier dosing and $10. I'm losing big in my area.
BMS was told they are actually increasing number of sales reps, not reducing like our mass lay offs. Can't keep up with Kombiglyze $10 cards and once a day dosing.
You will be able to compete with the new $5 coupons...
Yeah right- $5 coupons, a unicorn and a pot of gold. I'll believe it when I see it.
It is doing well in Lubbock
That area has the queen of close
Size of pill backfired on me today. I showed a doctor, and he told me so what?
All XR drugs have large pills. He's been Rxing them for years without much of an issue.
he then asked me if the only reason I should write Janumet is because Kombiglyz was a bigger pill that I was wasting his time.
Then he once again asked for head to head data, which we don't have, and asked what our price was.
I have a feeling I'm not going to get any Janumet out of him anymore, and he's a top 10 Januvia/Janumet doc.
Wow....you're actually trying to combat them on pill size??? How about pulling out the Onglyza PI and citing their efficacy - both monotherapy (-.3 & -.4 in one study - pathetic!) as well as their add-on to metformin. When placebo and met were factored out - they had a real measley reducation compated with met. Stick to the pi my friend - there's plenty of ammo there!
