Karyopharm - oncology

Salary Range- Don't know exactly but probably 145-160. Comp plan has not been designed yet. Equity and options included $$
Experience- Yes, in liquid or solid tumor or both. They ask for specific examples of your work in hospitals, community centers and your opinion on the molecule, how it works, exp with oral versus infusion and competitive info and market.
Waiting to see data on BOSTON trial!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Good luck..........

You have to be dam desperate to take this job:

patient's will have received 4 very highly regarded MM drugs, be refractory to two of those, and when you think that sucks, they also have to be refractory to Anti CD38 .
LOL so you clinical sell will be with a drug essentially 5th line?? Yikes shoot my brains out.

Without being mean, this is truly the walking dead. Very low population to which the length of time on Karyopharm's drug is at best a month or two. You might get 3 out of 100 pts that go longer than 6 mos.

They better be paying 190K base because anybody with MM experience won't touch this position.

Watch you won't making any bonus dollars because their goals will be sky high for a drug where the median, yes median therapies received is an eye popping 7. YES 7.
My gosh!!!!

No wonder it took so long to do the studies...not many of these patients laying around and at what point after all the drugs ppl took with MM to they simply give up?

Correction Selinexor would be 6th line after refractory/relapse of 5 other products. Might be the worst Onc position ever!! Talk about an uphill battle.
Very very difficult sell. Wonder how "realistic" management is with regards to this disease and knowing product will be used in 6th line.
I thought 3rd/4th line Breast Cancer was difficult when ppl had to sell in that space but this is beyond even that extremely difficult selling situation.

Does anyone have any info on account specialist positions and interviews? P1 is being a little vague. I can't tell if that's purposeful on the P1 end or just a delay on the Karyopharm end.

Personally, I think its Karyopharm not wanting to disclose things. P1 told me in my area only 2 ppl responsed with onc experience. She told me while they haven't said anything about salary the few ppl that have moved along did not make more than 150K on base.

KP are being vague in order to trap candidates. Like poster above stated, after looking into this position, how will anybody make a decent bonus? I looked at the study, this is a very difficult sell and position.

Good Luck to all. Just be careful. This will be a very frustrating job. Unusual in the oncology world.

Seems like some places have already started interviews and other places he position is still posted and there’s been zero direction particularly in the west. Whats up with the hiring manager in the west. Does anyone know anything about him? His lack of action is making me think twice.

He's very inexperienced and arrogant. Unless you're from Onyx/Amgen, and pretty green yourself, you're not going to get in. Consider yourself lucky. I know a lot of mm reps who backed out of the process when they found out who the manager was. Nothing worse than working for a manager who has less experience than you do. That's what happens when nepotism runs rampant.

I've heard same from colleagues who backed out early in the process, very clear to them he had no clue about the market and they are hiring their buddies, reps from Amgen, or ones with no experience. They strongly advised against even talking to this company.

Word to the wise: if his initials are DB then run in the other direction. You will regret your decision in a very short time.
