Just got word...

Absolutely true
NVS, under no circumstances, will perform year ends
until after layoffs for the remaining 30% of the reps

If this is true layoffs will be quick. I am a FLM & we were instructed by our HRBP to complete reviews by the second week in Jan. Some people are starting next week. Don't know what that means and it could change. I had the feeling they wanted reviews complete and also allow people time to contest. I just don't know how fast they can orchestrate it. The 2010 layoff happened the first of December and I know many aspects of it were done in May/June time frame. Who knows. We can speculate til the cows come home. I realize there is a lot of bogus info on this site, but some good comes out of it. This is a really good thread. I like that.

Reviews are supposed to be completed by Jan 31. I guess if this is true layoffs will occur in the next few weeks.

Sad part is at least 1/2 the managers will be gone too.

The sad part is that this had to happen at all. Reps are the single most important factor in a sales organization. There really are not newbie reps here so the ratio of reps to manager must increase if you want to allocate your resources $ properly. Why would you pay one manager to have 6 reps report to them and another manager have 12 reps report to them. A 5 year old can figure that one out. NVS needs to properly allocate and use their resources and if they did they could sustain their workforce during hard times.

Exactly ! they are not waiting. Another tell tale sign which was mentioned on another thread is the stock price is going up. Wall street is thrilled and Novartis needs to send a thrill up Wall streets leg to take the focus off the Tekturna debacle. Heck their over bloated with reps/mgt so they are going for the kill fast and furious no waiting. There is no upside to waiting.

What's interesting is all the patients out there taking their meds over the holidays not knowing the drug has been pulled.

The drug has not been pulled...,yet. Yes i know we are not promoting it and yadda yadda
but patients can still get it at the pharmacy and Drs can still prescribe it if they want.

For Novartis to wait 1 or 2 months in the big picture is nothing. Get over it

Yeah it's not pulled , wait till the first stroke or renal complication
& it will blow away all the other lawsuits Novartis has lost combined

Pharmacy's have already been notified about the dangers

Doctors , no matter how many honarariums they have received ,
will drop this toxic turd like a hot potato , they're not stupid enough
to rick malpractice.

The European regulators have already permanetly pulled Tekturna off the market due severe adverse events yadda yadda yadda...... "non-fatal STROKE!!" yadda yadda... "no benefit seen with therapy" yadda yadda yadda...... The only one that may need to "Get over it" and face reality is distorted thinking that a company will wait 2-3 months to make it's inevitable move and the HR complications that come with delay.

No longer promoting it in the U.S. is "group speak" for pulling it off the market. Anyway it's semantics at this point. If they are no longer promoting it they no longer need you, us, the sales force.

Patients are unnecessarily at risk especially given the many choices physicians have that do present these risks.

Two words: " Medical liability". Tekturna is toast and all the salesforce connected with it is burnt.

Honestly face up to it chief and then get over it.

Opinions are like assholes......everyone has one.

The layoff may not happen as quickly as we think. Aliskiren reps begin Exelon Patch training next week.

Wake up! By end of Jan... We are toast...if you have not been trained on EP or Reclast already you are really screwed. Novartis is not going to spend another dime on that.. If they do that's exactly why we are in this nightmare... POOR business decisions!

Just curious....How does ZS Associates know who is trained on which drugs. They may have a call plan but there may be some that are trained and not currently promoting EP or Reclast.

Honestly, i really don't think that will matter and I do sell EP and Reclast. I think they are just going to go straight by ratings, tenure, geography etc.

Don't forget salary and to redefine tenure that is 40+ in age not necessarily years at the company. More of either of these categories = DOA. The higher the salary, higher the age, higher the knowledge the higher chance of elimination.

CV rep here...just opened meeting packet and it contains Exelon Patch materials, so I am assuming I am going to be trained on EP soon. I will also have have Exforge, but of course, all this is just so temporary. Hoping there is no formal training to go to. With impending layoffs occurring sooner and in larger #'s, I am sure that would not be required.

That was per Tekturna

There is no meeting and if you are trained it will be on a webinar

i am a CV rep and all that was in my meeting packet was diovan and exforge information. I guess that means I am definitely canned.
