I should add that I am unemployed. I do have a lot of activity but no offer yet and I am not in a position in this economy to be super picky. But, I don't want to end up in another nightmare situation as I came from big pharma.

you kidding me. who cares what type of car they give you. i can tell already that you will not succeed. this isn't chucky cheese. you don't get to choose what color balloon you get. jesus, you are unemployed and asking people here on cp about this crappy company and you are asking about what type of car they give you. here's some advice, a job at best nuy would be better then selling arestin. what a moron

I love people who get mad when someone asks about the car choices. You are exactly the type of person that companies love these days, don't ask questions, be happy you have a job and take what you can get. I agree the car is not important but settle down, its just a question!
 






This job can be a stepping stone. Plenty of people have moved into Dental Implants over the past 2-3 years. Produce for 2 years and you can go many places. Don't believe all of the bashing. The company is pretty good. Goals can get crazy, but many people are doing well in 2011.

This job is a stepping stone for people who have been "chosen" to move up in the company even if they are the most incompetent AM in a region. They play tricks with the goals and the UALetters. Stepping stone in to implants. Not hardly! I don't know where you are getting this crap about 2 years and you are going places. You either keep slugging away at the same old shit or quit and get a job on your own. And it sure won't happen in two years. Fantasy world!!!
 






I am not talking about people moving up. I am talking about successful people leaving to move on to "better" (their words) opportunities in the dental implant market. There are plenty of examples. For those that have chosen to stay, there are many that continue to be successful. What's wrong with you? Can't figure out how to sell Arestin Rx yet?

So you honestly think you come to work for OP for two years, quit and move into implants???? Been here many years and never seen that. Wonder how you know this happens?? Because you are either a manager or just plain full of it!

And what does figure out how to sell Arestin Rx yet mean. What does that have to do with moving up to implants in two years with OP. What an ass you are!

Since these people are gone, name these plenty of people who worked at OP for two years and then moved on the implants. Put your money where your stupid mouth is. I know I know you will have some excuse not to name anyone which proves you don't have a clue!
 






Four off the top of my head. JS who was in Boston and is now a RM at Straumann. KC from Jersey, PS in Vermont and JT in Jersey. All in implant sales. There are also a bunch who are now Directors in other Dental Companies.

did they give you a bmw or a volvo for this job? is a car really important when you hate your job. real sales rep eat what they kill. come to device and you can double or triple your income, but you have to pay your own expenses. i know you are probably used to the lazy atmosphere of pharma, but you have two options: 1) go out and work 12 hour days and pay your own expenses and make $200k+ or be happy at a crappy company like OP and geta volvo and never amount to anything

Does that $200K really make up for 12 hr days missing time with your kids or not being available to help with family activities? Good thing you're able to financially support your wife while she has 10 hrs a day to hook- up with her boy toy and still take care of the kids since you obviously don't care to have time to satisfy her or care about more than the financial needs of your family!
I'd rather drive Chevy, take a small pay cut, enjoy a 7hr day, and still have time and energy to coach my son's baseball and satisfy my wife!

i don't mind working 7am-5pm everyday with wednesday's as my sales call day and fridays half day. i'm in the or mon,tues and thursday. the harder i work the more money i make. i have one child and another on the way. i see my family every day. i know when i was at OP i hated the structure (or lack there of) and the lack of opportunity to make money. i wanted to get into device so i old have a higher potential to make $$. i don't do trauma all my cases are elective. who at OP makes $200k+ besides upper management?

it's sad but true, you can work 30 hours a week and get a company car at OP or you can get into a better industry and make a killing. I'm 3 years into this position and making $200k in device. the average rep in my branch makes $225k or more. it sounds as if you don't have the guts or determination to want to make more $ and support your family. i guess having an amex and a company car is worth it

when they rolled out that program ( i forgot the name) for arestin were we brought into the practice the movie screen and just played the 4 arestin dvds and signed up the practice for some shitty ass customer loyalty program. what a joke. i don't misss bringing lunches in for fat,lazy rdh's and just pressing play on my laptop. i guess the one thing i liked about OP was that I did get a chrysler 300. that car was huge.

as a grown man does it bother you that you know deep down inside you could do more for your family. who works 7 hour days? come one, thats the attitude i hated about pharma/op. lets go make 3-4 office calls and call it a day. oh, don't forget to purchase my own lunch using the amex. your response is the reason why your career is stuck in a black hole with no upward mobility bc you don't want to work to a goal. you clock in anc clock out after working 25-30 hours a week. pretty pathetic if you ask me. unfortunately, OP is stuck with a salesforce that has your mentality . the mentality that a 25-30 hour work week is considered "working hard" and productive. please spare me the "i work efficiently and more effective no matter how many hours i work". bs
