The switch has to be driven by modality, since it impossible to price any branded product low enough to compete with generics. That is what patient assistance programs are for, to lower or in most cases eliminate the patient's out-of-pocket. Of that 95% that uses generic, if they have insurance, there should be a mechanism in place to get them the drug at an affordable out-of-pocket.
