Janssen Specialty is hiring for Hepatitis C

I can't believe I'm posting on this crap hole, but, with nearly 25 years experience, I find myself trolling with the negative ass wipes that post here. Now I guess I'm one of them!

Of all the posts that I've read, rarely does anyone take any consideration of the patient we are all trying (or should be trying) to help. Terms like "Market" do not paint the picture of a mom, dad, brother, sister, uncle, aunt, etc. We are in the business of helping people with diseases we can potentially cure. I personally think we, as professionals, should be focused on patients and what is in thier best interest. Call me a goofball, but I know that is the right thing. The sales will come if we do the right thing.

Thanks Dan. Idiot.

So let me get this straight, you're going to leave Vertex to go to Janssen...won't that put you in the exact same place in just over a year when the all orals from Gilead and/or Abbott are on the horizon? And Vertex's isn't far behind that....

seems like a dumb move to jump to Janssen.....Gilead on the otherhand.....

I'm not picky. either one would take me! Retention agreement be damned!

How about the "non-compete" clause that you signed (but did not notice) when you were first hired?

Company can not stop you from working, period! If you signed a "non-compete" know it is worthless. Please share with us all the non-compete language that you signed. Non-competes for entry lvel jobs are virtually non existent.

The upside of Janssen is that they'll be launching a new therapy for UC in months, followed on by simeprevir the end of the year and then there is another new molecule further out, diversity may offer more security

not sure where you got your law degree, but I hope that poster doesn't take your advice.

This whole post is ridiculous. If you sign a non compete it's valid. That's it. You've entered into a contract whether it's for an entry level job or not. And the jobs you have are not entry level btw. Virtually non existent? Except at Vertex where everyone signed it. LOL

You are an entry level employee in this industry, and possess no trade secrets, or anything even close to it. You have no secret insights into the companys pipeline. In fact, everything that you know, can be found publically on the internet by anyone who cares. It is common knowledge that non-competes are virtually unenforceable in these types of cases. You can not be prevented from working period. In fact, I did not sign a non-compete, and am shocked that anyone at such a low level would ever be asked to do so. Here is a direct quote from a legal expert, including case law, you can look all over the internet and find similar quotations WITH case law supporting them:

"Non-compete agreements have become more common in the workplace. A recent Franklin County Court of Appeals decision should have businesses reviewing these documents to make sure they will withstand scrutiny from the court system. In a case involving Midwestern Auto Group (MAG”) and a former salesman, John Curran, the Court concluded that unless an employee possesses confidential or proprietary documents or trade secrets, or uses that information to solicit the former employer’s customers, non-compete agreements will be difficult to enforce in court."

If you were secure a written contract from say Gilead, there is no way a court of law would not allow you to pursue a living. Vertex is done in 3-6 months. Gilead will be viable for at least 3-5 years. They cannot stop you from making a living unless vertex was to offer a guaranteed contract.

After you spend thousands in attorneys fees I hope it goes your way
