Janssen Contract?

Yes, you're so intelligent and mature, we should all be like you. Here's a thought douche: I know who I am, what my family is, where I live, where my kids go to school, I've got nothing to apologize for. You, on the other hand, are a pathetic, transparent, shallow moron with a bad attitude. Nothing will ever be good for you because of you. Live your life however you want, don't criticize me because you're jealous and too stupid to understand why.

Still laughing!!

As you can see not everyone has the same experience. There are a lot of good things about this contract, but the big issue for me (and a lot of others) is the self-preservation of the J&J counterparts. It's extreme! I know sales people are naturally competitive but on top of that everyone is so damn worried about losing their job. They no nothing of the 'team' concept and there is no such thing as call continuum. The J&J reps don't share customer info with their q counterparts and are constantly playing games to manipulate the system in their favor. So immature. What a shame! Good luck in your decision making.

Janssen reps are (justifiably) worried that their employer can get rid of them (and their accruing pension obligation) in favor of placing a contractor (pulled from a deep pool of highly experienced, well trained unemployed reps) just by using a PIP.

Overall, Janssen as a corporation benefits from this...and everyone knows it.

This is Pharma Today.

I have been on two contracts before this and this is a really good one. The pay is good, the mileage is great and my Janssen manager is great as well as my Janssen counterpart. Janssen has a strong pipeline with a lot of new indications and drugs coming soon. It's a good gig that may have some future. At the very least you will get experience in the anti coag and diabetes market which are very large markets moving forward. Good Luck!

Thank you very much for the feedback. So far, the interview process has been great. It's moving along with no long waits and the managers I've interviewed with have come across as down to earth, sincere, fair people. I have been through interview processes in the past that had me running from the company and so far I have a good impression of both Quintiles and Janssen.

It is not Janssen or Quintiles it is the job of being a phamra rep altogether that is the problem. Wait til they hire you and you see your target list, the Janssen reps have all the good targets and the shit docs are left for the contract rep. Good luck but not come back here complaining in a few months.

Where are you? (state?)

This is not a bad contract at all. The initial contacts and impressions of the Q side were good, and still are. Actually the Q managers have a good grip on the business, maybe more so than some lesser experienced J&J managers, but this is because they've been to more rodeos. On this contract the Q manager interviews, and sends 2 or 3 people to J&J, who make the final selections. (Albeit a tedious process) But the Q manager is still managing from afar, even though the J&J manager does the sales, ride-along parts. Are there issues with the J&J managers, yes, in places. But then again, there are issues with all contracts. If you have a job, or are on the J&J contract, then work it through to show you can, well, work. If nothing else, the J&J manager, as well as the Q side will see your value. If you are looking at postings, then be aware many of the negative comments are being left by individuals who are a; unhappy anywhere. b; have been asked to leave, therefore in the throes of consoling themselves, while they try to make others feel badly as well. Some may call these people worthless, I will reserve judgment. I have been on this contract since the spring, and once the J side realizes your value, and the fact you have a decent work ethic, then its been plain sailing all along. Good luck with your job quest!

All the new positions post this Friday the 12th, full time Janssen expansion jobs.

While the industry remains challenging, I hope the opportunity to join J&J is real. It would really hurt to be doing this job, be trained on the products, to have decent sales performance, and yet be beat out for the J&J position by someone from left field.

Best foot forward, and all that.

How good are your relationships with your Q and Janssen managers? If you've taken care of business with them you should be fine because you've been on what amounts to a 1 year interview.
