Does anyone have insight regarding the Janssen contract? I'm interviewing for a position with Quintiles, for a contrat with Janssen. How is the relationship between Janssen management and the Quintiles reps? I've never done contract sales and would love some info. Thanks!

Been in pharma 14 years and this contract is hands down the WORST pharma job I have ever had, my Janssen manger has been in my car more in the last year than all of my previous 13 years as a rep. Totally ridiculous!!

It depends on where you are, I've had an excellent experience with my peers and management, both Q and Janssen and I'm very happy to be here. The work is hard and you never really know where you stand but the people I'm with on a daily basis are very good.

Contract sales is a resume killer regardless of the experience you. Go figure that JnJ is under a hiring freeze but Q is not?

This is the best job ever! I get to ride with my DM for 2 days every 4-5 weeks. My offices just love it that not only do I have my own DM with me, but this week I get to bring the DM from another state too for a Blitz. FUN! Plus we get to certify based on "impact" in front of customers. Everything you are judged on is completely straight forward and objective. No one ever seems to have a hidden agenda. Oh, and I almost forgot. My Janssen direct hire counterpart is totally secure in his job so he loves to help me out. I should really pay Janssen to work here. After all, my Janssen DM has tons of great sports analogies and stories from his glory days that are really inspiring. Market share is above forecast. Amazing.

While the satire is dripping, I think you should come clean with the aspirant. It's not fair :)

Especially true about the 'direct hire' counterpart(s). I'm the deformed hammertoe of our footprint!

Thanks for the feedback. Reading through many of the posts on the Innovex board; I'm a bit leary of taking this job. Guess I'll make that decision if I get the offer!
Thanks again.

As you can see not everyone has the same experience. There are a lot of good things about this contract, but the big issue for me (and a lot of others) is the self-preservation of the J&J counterparts. It's extreme! I know sales people are naturally competitive but on top of that everyone is so damn worried about losing their job. They no nothing of the 'team' concept and there is no such thing as call continuum. The J&J reps don't share customer info with their q counterparts and are constantly playing games to manipulate the system in their favor. So immature. What a shame! Good luck in your decision making.

I have been on two contracts before this and this is a really good one. The pay is good, the mileage is great and my Janssen manager is great as well as my Janssen counterpart. Janssen has a strong pipeline with a lot of new indications and drugs coming soon. It's a good gig that may have some future. At the very least you will get experience in the anti coag and diabetes market which are very large markets moving forward. Good Luck!

People like you make laugh! So clueless.

Yes, you're so intelligent and mature, we should all be like you. Here's a thought douche: I know who I am, what my family is, where I live, where my kids go to school, I've got nothing to apologize for. You, on the other hand, are a pathetic, transparent, shallow moron with a bad attitude. Nothing will ever be good for you because of you. Live your life however you want, don't criticize me because you're jealous and too stupid to understand why.
