Jackie Nielson email about great example should I send one

Nielsen's "direct reports" must have rated her poorly in people skills.
These messages are being produced to prove she's a human.

Despite her considerable limitations, your comments reflect the ignorance and stupidity which have come to define the "New Merck". So you deserve every trite and contrived message from that phony deposited in your mailbox.

Add that the "bitch-a$$" is making a mint compared to your sorry a$$.

Yeah, you're right-she is. But at least I can live with myself. At least I have some friends. And at least people like me which is a whole lot more that I can say about the bitchass. You don't put people like that with her "considerable limitations" in a leadership positions. You want to talk about phony-it's all phony-who you trying to kid jerk-off?

Lets see what she did as a rep. Oh wait, she wasn't a rep.

enough said prickass

Add Nielson's phoniness and your utter lack of maturity to the long list of reasons why Merck has become a corporate embarrassment.

It is very likely to be her annual personal objectives and so she is cranking the messages out.

Or someone suggested to do it so your dummy reps will feel warm and fuzzy and connected to her. Now do you feel valued more than before?

i am still having a hard time believing that even Merck would put someone in charge of the sales function who has never done the job. Really struggling with that one. Further I know there is alot of shit posted on here that is false, so I would like to try to get some confirmation of the fact that Jackie has never actually sold our products before. anyone seen her resume or had her in the field and actually asked her this question? I am sure she's a pretty smart lady, not challenging that fact, but to have any credibility with the sales force, it helps to actually have done the job yourself.

Companies that bloat their employee ranks as a way to "increase the share of voice" don't give a darn about hands-on sales experience in their sales leadership team.

Reps were/are merely a vehicle for the "message". But glutting MD offices with sales people all doing/saying the same thing is a sure way to minimize impact while maximizing costs. It's no wonder that some reps work half-days--It's a way of mitigating the promotional saturation point. A result of over-staffing is the "Who's gonna miss me, the other guy can leave samples today" attitude.

And this doesn't even touch the issue of lackluster promotional "message" strategies. When sales management began to stress "message" over sound scientific clinical reasons for using Merck products, it was all down hill. The same shallow clods were responsible for the VIOXX mess.

"learnt" happens to be correct as the past tense of learn. Look it up.

Is Jackie McLarty/Nielson British? Nah, but she is given to holding her pinkie up when sipping from a tea cup....Raa-ther!

Total phony who doesn't give a darn about the wee folk beneath her. The e-mail schtick is just ticking a box on her 2013 performance expectations. You know, a schmaltzy e-mail is so personal, and addresses that lack of empathy and humanity thing.

What is the difference between ‘learnt’ and ‘learned’?

* Learnt is more common in British English, and learned in American English.
* There are a number of verbs of this type (burn, dream, kneel, lean, leap, spell, spill, spoil etc.).
* They are all irregular verbs, and this is a part of their irregularity.

Please stop your emails. It is polluting my email. Don't you have other responsibilities? Put a filter on it to see how many people actually don't read and simply delete it.

I think you missed my humor. You had to be in the room back in Anaheim, CA a couple years ago.

Surely, someone else remembers her use of the word learnt. I couldn't believe my ears.

I believe she spent a lot of time in other countries and thus why she used the word, "learnt" which is correct and proper. You don't freak out if one of your customers, say, from UK or India say, "I frequent this store often." Do you? Or write, "I realise"? Or "colour TV"?

You may not like her management style. But perhaps you want to expand your knowledge of "Global English"? :)
