Not necessarily, I’ve known many reps who worked their asses off and were put on PIPs by managers that simply didn’t like them. They wait until an “off” quarter and bam you are on a PIP.
Are we really requiring our marketing department to be top talent? Laughable.
If we're being honest, no one here is top talent. This place doesn't pay enough to attract it, regardless of which department or sales business unit you're in.

I saw it happen, it was absolutely embarrassing. I’m sure everybody could point fingers here but this guy, like the previous poster, said, thought he was untouchable. And saying he could talk to eagles meant he was always higher than a kite. Don’t blame Heather, she tried her best with him.

Sales Managers who are only effective bureaucrats and don’t have any relationships with key customers across primary care of specialty call points. Not rocket science.

Marketing who doesn’t have any relationships in primary care or specialty. Same issue with a majority of managers. No relationships with key opinion leaders or organizations that impact change in policy or processes.

Was hired right before pandemic. One of my trainers took a job in marketing. He was a staple of launching the Cologuard test and excelled at all levels. Then he ran into one of the new marketing managers with next to zero experience out of California.
She is one of the worst managers, and possibly one of the shadiest people, that I’ve met at this company, and unfortunately this company keeps hiring inept managers. Seems to be the norm now.
Because he called out her ineptitude, she placed him on a PIP and he ended up hitting all the parameters and got off the PIP. She wasn’t happy.
Drummed up new allegations and got him fired. No warning. This guy has been here since the beginning, and now fired by a new manager with less than a year experience. And his exit was cold and apathetic. Told to be on TEAMS call on a Monday, only to find HR jump on the call and fire him. He wasn’t allowed to comment or defend himself. Lost computer access about 5 min after. His RSU’s vanished. Car gone.
This guy trained me and my colleagues here at Exact and is as sharp and confident as they come. Not only that but he was super personable, approachable, and fun.
The toxic culture here is spreading like a fungal rash. Don’t bother giving this company any extra effort whatsoever because these new hires don’t care and will get you fired in a second. This company won’t even stand in their way or attempt to defend you in the least. it’s an absolute shame this guy was let go, and the next time it could just as easily be you.
Exact doesn’t look like Exact any longer.

Sarah T is one of the most shady on the marketing team. She literally had not managed people before and she gets promoted after firing 1 of her 2 employees. Didn't Kevin say we were not gong to have managers that only have one or two people reporting to them. It doesn't make any sense, except that her director Doug is in LOVE with her, she is always "getting coffee" or "breakfast" with him when the team is together. The marketing team should watch their back with Heather and Sarah.
 






Agree BD is a good guy with good intentions and as far as I know never showed up to a meeting in a bathrobe!
Never saw him drinking too much at a meeting either. I guess doing shit behind people’s backs is preferred at the new Exact. The whole new marketing crew can eat a dick from Doug all the way to the regional “experts”. BD was an asset to the company, but letting him go was on brand for the decisions made in the past couple of years.

For the first few lines I thought you were talking about a rep also on the west. Was given a warning letter by her manager ML then when challenged her on details was fired a few months later. No PIP, just the warning and was lied to on each field day how well it was going. Even blew out the 2022 Q4 goals over 130%. I know NOT ALL managers are bad and horrible but just goes to show you how jacked things got when there was a merge. Glad the rep is in a much better place making more salary. Bottom line there are better jobs out there with even better managers.
