I am not informed on much of the previous discussion. I work in an office that used the ZioPatch for several months, so I can speak from experience regarding reimbursements and costs. The amount billed by iRhythm for the devices exceeds the total collections including private insurance reimbursements. This company expects the consumer (or physician's practice) to pay more than it is possible to collect. Obviously, we no longer use Zio Patch.

On average that shouldn't be the case so you should speak to your rep. But know that new CPT codes are coming in 2012 for the device's extending monitoring capabilities and that reimbursement will be a lot rosier. So if you liked the Zio Patch but weren't pleased with reimbursement, be sure to follow up in another month and a half.
 










































initial 10 mil 2009, 10 mil St Jude 2010, another 15 mil from NLV and St Jude 2011, and another 7 mil from Kaiser Ventures in 2011. Wow, I would say not doing well is an understatement.

Any news here? I hear some good things from docs who are using them, but that's contrary to everything on this message board.

Supposedly the reporting is the best in the business.
 






Device is nice, reports are great. I am surprised you found a doc to say anything nice though... Insurance does not cover it. If insurance does not pay, no one uses. Too bad.
 






I thought that they managed a long holter code. The per patient cost does seem high.

I have seen some of the reports and they look good, but I don't know how they stand behind them with a one-channel device.
 


















yes. True. They just hired a rep in Mid West that I fired from Medtronic. She's progressed right down to selling a holter. Serves her right. She is a terrible rep and very negative. Lol.
 






Many reps, managers and execs left in last few months, but they are hiring more fast and furious. Since the expansion, most reps in the company are actively interviewing. New managers not respected and AVPs expect major micromanagement of reps. My RSD rides in my car for three days every month and we have intensive 1 on 1s and regional calls every week. The emphasis on this implementation guide is ruining our lives and ability to reach goals. Sad. Used to be a great place to work back in the day.
