FYI, our use it or lose it vacation policy is against California law. If you live in Cali, you should know this.

Illegal to make you use vacation by year end in California. One of the few states that does this. Also one of the few states to pay disabiity.

Tecnically the law is that a company cannot take AWAY anything that has been given as far as Vacation time goes. So since the policy is that you stop accruing at half. They are not taking anything away, because it was never given. If the policy was that you must use your vacation by years end or it is forfeit, they would have to pay out CA employees.

I agree with the OP. why should someone be "grateful" for dishonesty? I dont think they are complaining about having three weeks plus Christmas. There's was a lack of full disclosure. It was sold as a part of the package to join. Regardless of the job or industry it's not professional or transparent. It is possible they were entertaing other offers and the extra week off helped make their desicion. Probably won't matter anyway the contract is scheduled to end around Christmas next year.

Inventiv is the most unfriendly work environment i have every seen. They Treat employees like office furniture that is disposed whenever it works for them. The home office staff has to be the most incompetent group of people i have ever seen. Finally the client service managers have to be the biggest waist of space I have ever seen as well. Goofy place - Arrogance coupled with incompetence what a joke these guys are. get out of here and go work for a real company with real benefits. This place is a joke and run by a bunch of incompetent clowns.
