I did the virtual interview this morning.
Not really that difficult. Here is the gist of it. I am sure you will easily pass. Here is the gist of it:

"Tell me about a time you had to present an idea and convince someone of your proposal or suggestion"

"Anyone can sell the best product. But how would you sell the 2nd or 3rd best product?"

"How would do you deal with the daily frustration, monotony, boredom and disrespect received as an Otsuka sales rep?"

"If you have been a rep, or are a rep, have you ever recorded a pharmaceutical sales call that did not take place?"

"Can you regurgitate our important messages day in and day out to anyone who is tired of hearing them?"

"You are an important part of the treatment team. What value do you provide to our customers?"

"Have you ever inaccurately recorded call notes?"

"Could you sell 30 pills that make people fat and raise their bloodsugar with the price of a mortgage payment without blinking an eye?"

I received an invite Tuesday via text and e mail. I started the interview yesterday but it didn’t record my first answer. The first question was “tell me a time you dealt with pressure or stressful situation and how did I handle it”
 






Are these for the LTC openings? If so what is the mid to longterm outlook for this division? Looks like their current product has a couple of years left, then what? will they be selling Rexalti or launching the new MDD drug with Sunovion? Just want to know what I would be signing up for, Thanks

Are you serious? These idiots are still asking questions from a script that’s probably 100 years old of potential candidates??? The worn out, “tell me about a time when” went out decades ago! Do you think that big device companies ask such sophomoric questions like that??????? This industry is run about 25 years behind what tech, device and other 21st companies are doing! How pathetic.

What isn't antiquated at Otsuka? Look at our business and marketing model! The industry has changed profoundly in the last 40 years, and we are operating and managed as if this is 1980! The only reason we look good on paper is because of steady price increases! If you truly think out of the box and you rock the boat, you will be, contrary to what Otsuka claims on their website, sooner or later eliminated.

"The nail sticking out will be hammered down".

Happened to more than one person here....This is a company for "yes" people who don't ask relevant and important questions challenging the status quo....

Remember, we are a japanese company. Uniformity is a must, regardless of what they tell you

I have a digital interview next Tuesday. I would really appreciate some honest feedback about what to expect. What are the questions. Please refrain from sarcasm or jaded, cynical responses. It may do you good to help someone. Thank you!!!

The best advice I can give you is to stay away from Otsuka. Why on earth do you want to work here?

I went through the interview process got an offer then got ghosted during the background check they said a job I worked at for 4 years I was only there 3 months just a heads up to all! When I email they say they’re still working on it.
 












Are people really asking for straight answers and advice without sarcasm on Cafepharma? You may want to find another source rather than a cesspool of comments from disgruntled employees and former employees.

Otsuka is playing games with job seekers. On our website you can see the job postings....funny that it says "posted 2 days ago" on almost all of them when they were posted 4-6 months ago. Otsuka wants to create the impression these are "new" openings in order to attract more applicants. There is a reason nobody wants these! What a joke!
