I was contacted by a recruiter for a Hospital position but he did not know much about the position. Could anyone give some information on this? He said it was in the Pain Division and to look up the merger with Ikaria. Which I did and Ikaria has a neonatal product. So with that being said, I am a little confused.

Are you serious? Come on. This post makes me want to wretch. the recruiter didn't know much? Give us a break. You're not going to get any information on here. Goodnight.

Great product. Company is going through a rough patch but is as good as most.

Company is terrible, filled with terrible people making terrible decisions. You will be out of a job stuck with a car payment, yes you have to buy a new car, within 6 mths. You honestly can't run fast enough away from this shithole. Take a look at their stock, MNK, was 135 in March now it's below 60.

its the same everehere. It's not bad.

It's not the same everywhere. That's what Mallinckrodt wants you to believe so you don't leave. This place is toxic and killing the reputation of those still here.

Don't believe me? Go to your local hospital and speak to pharmacy, see what they have to say about Mallinckrodt and how they've been treated by the company in the last 1.5 years.

awwwww man guess that new product that is always coming but never arrives won't help much!!!!!!!!! Bummer!!! Sarcasm intended here

Side note why would anyone listen to a recruiter that doesn't know anything about the company or position and worst of all product!!!

Go try and sell any product to pharmacy. Most pharmacists will make your life miserable. They don't want anything new, cheap, or better. They hate everyone!

Pharmacists are the most unethical department in all of medicine. The sad thing is they know the majority of new drugs are substantially better than earlier medicines, but want to keep their budgets down for their own benefit at the cost of the patient. They could care less. Pharmaceutical companies are constantly under scrutiny, but no one is watching the pharmacy. There should be a national independent investigation done and many shocking surprises would be revealed. Patients going to the hospital need to do their own research as they usually get the cheapest stuff while still paying top dollar for their medications. Pharmaceutical companies are big business and should be profitable unless people don't want new discoveries. Pharmacies are big business and they are looking out for themselves for the $.

It's they Couldnt care less- NOT they could care less. Get it right. If they could care less, that means they care. We all know that's not true.

It is a hospital position where you call on NICU. The second product will be essentially IV Tylenol.

buddy, get a life. Bottom of the barrel talent in the hospital division. If you can't get into specialty sales , you would be better off selling copiers. Hospital jobs are the graveyard.

Excuse me???? Not sure what your inferring, but hospital sales is the toughest sales job in the industry. Period.

i believe what the poster was saying was that the hospital division is full of self-centered, 15 year tenured douche-bags that have no where else to go so they stay in this shit hole of a company but even that is soon to expire.

Im not sure if my translation was exactly right but Im pretty sure that was the jist of it

Not true at all. Hospital jobs are still a great position if you work for a company that supports true hospital reps. That's not the case for this company. Ofirmev is a hospital drug for sure however all the management here is interested in is how many programs you do and if you've golfed recently w a doctor. My manager wants us each to do 15-20 programs on a product that was launched in 2011 & it's Tylenol for God's sake. Seriously? As for pharmacy.... if you can truly work a hospital you can find a way to work with pharmacy. Problem is this company doesn't support that. When you ask for support for an initiative for one of your hospitals they send in "upper management" which come across as glorified Car Salesmen of the healthcare industry. I can't get out of here soon enough. If you work for the right kind of company & sell a true in-patient drug (which Ofirmev is) you'll be successful as a hospital rep. That won't happen here with current management in my opinion. Think long and hard before you make the jump over here.
