Informatics

Untouchable? There were a number of people let go from Informatics. It would probably have been many more but over the last few years there has been a steady stream of people getting out of here to move on to better jobs with better management.

That was all outsourced some time ago. Another nice move by management.

Yeah...KW cut most of the Forest personnel (except for a small group that still personally takes care of senior management), and outsourced everything else to the firm that is owned by a buddy of his. The existing personnel were given the option of staying on as consultants to ATOS (or something like that), with dramatically reduced pay, substantially reduced autonomy, and a whole lot of red tape. The number of times I've heard "I know how to fix that, but my abilities to do so have been taken away, you'll have to use the call center" are more than I can count. I've spent months in bureaucratic hell trying to get simple problems solved because of the absurd workflow, and the fact that the people who understand the systems here have their hands tied. But KW's friend got some business out of it, and that's what matters, right?

ATOS does use existing support provided by gold / premier support from Dell. The only money ATOS makes off of this type of support is for the normal facilitation of support, there is no extra charge for ATOS to facilitate this.

I say the above only to correct and give facts. I didn't / don't agree with the move to provide support via ATOS. At the same time, misleading and presenting incorrect information doesn't help bring real issues to light.

ATOS does / did in fact cost considerably more for support scenarios than what was previously in place. Some needed to go, but it was also presented that a certain level of expertise was included with the ATOS service. This is clearly a farce and a misrepresentation of what we were supposed to get.
