Inflammation manager in upstate New York

Funny, this guy has been with company for years. Now, has won Manager of the Year, Coach of the Year, etc. He is fooling everyone at Amgen. His team is amazing, and that’s why he wins anything. His ride alongside, Pre-Covid, what a joke. Maybe a call, or come to a lunch, but, that’s the extent of time he puts into his reps. Amgen, wake up

So this manager hires great people and gets out of the way. Got it.

Sounds like a bitter sales manger from his region. I see how you are tossing shade on your regional competition. Let me guess, your heavy handed micro-management strategy isn't quite working. Starting to sweat after all of your Celgene transfers up and quit on you. I bet you are scared of the 360 evaluation and exit interview data. Enjoy that Webex meeting explaining your actions.

Up-date your resume sparky.

No, he’s the Rheum manager. Not bitter, he’s just a self centered person who is very good at playing the game. Perception is reality. This has gone on for too long

Take it easy on SP! He’s busy picking out beer for the weekend and cancelling his field rides last second like he always does. He has lost some good people let’s see how his “coaching” works out with new hires. Watch his numbers over the next six month. Titanic alert!

It’s a male Rheum manager... and I think all his Celgene reps did quit on him? He’s not a micro manager but he’s a check the box-er. He’s clueless to how selling works, but he knows all about admin.

So what you are saying is that he sees that his reps are acting professional in the jobs and he leaves them alone????? Sounds like a dream manager to me!!!!!

maybe the problem is you?

he had one Celgene rep leave for a better opertunity and her future... Had nothing to do with Steve. But I hear his team needs to check their attitudes and arrogance. This thread is stupid.

I think he only actually ended up with 2 Celgene reps? But the whole state of Celgene reps lined up new jobs just in case they got him.

He’s not that bad. Expects everything, does nothing, takes all the credit when his team does well. It’s frustrating for his reps I’m sure. They have a good team in upstate. I’ve been here a longtime. People know his deal. You can’t deny he’s had success.

Success at what? I didn’t know Amgen measured success

-former Celgene rep

Is this the guy referred to in a prior thread as “starts with Pen- ends with s”? I thought that was an amusing way to put it. Met the guy at meetings a couple times though, not the best or brightest of any group you put him in. However, there is something to be said about going 20 years without making a single wave... that’s the key to “success” at Amgen.

Had an interview with this guy SP... came on here wondering if he really is this painfully unaware of how sales actually work. Is this the whole company or just a one off?
