I guess I should know better than to come to these boards and ask a serious question about selling Acthar gel, but I saw an opening on the west coast and thought I’d ask anyway.

For those of you selling Acthar gel, is there anything that you like about it, or working for Mallinckrodt in general? What are your thoughts on compensation, is it fair? What specifically don’t you like about the company, management and day to day operations?

I know that cost and coverage are issues, and would anticipate pushback based on the company history. But if you really needed a job, is it possible to make a gig like this work?

I’d love to hear the good, bad and ugly.

You could make it work for a year. But we are trying to sell against a generic that is accepted by most insurance companies. Acthar gel cost $9500 a vial, and ANI is $3500 a vial. Very hard to sell against a generic. If you are desperate for a job take it but don’t stop looking.

ANI hasn’t been that much of an issue in my territory. I’ve been with the company almost 3 years now. All companies have their issues but I’ve been treated pretty fair here. Just my $0.02

ANI's Purified Cortrophin Gel is not a generic, it is a branded drug with a broader range of approved indications than Acthar HP. The price difference definitely makes it challenging.
