If you could ask one question.....

I knew you were fake when you showed us your kids on the screen. You lied and said they were important. Why did you drive your wife away and leave them without a dad. Were you transparent when you showed them you are more important to you then they were. Do you have a mirror on every wall of your house.

DB, my question is would you be willing to let the sales force vote ballot style who we wanted as our VP to lead us in this changing environment. You or Gary Casto?

Lol just like with our current two party system maybe we need a few more to pick from! I'm tired of the lesser of two evils. GC helped create this mess.

So if they were completely transparent, what would change?
the same BS would be going on here.
6 mos ago DB said things will be different in the future, they are different now, It will be even more different in Dec or Jan, Do you expect them to tell us everytime they make a shift. It is a reorg of the salesforce/ optimization, etc... Some of us will be displaced- i guarantee that 100%, some rd's already have. terriotories will look different for reps-gurantee 100%, for rd's. But they have pretty much told us that havent they? if they told us a little bit every day and then it changed,. would things be any different now? no.
The fact is that we have been spolied to have not gone through this before. This is more of the norm for pharma and probably a sign of the future. I bet over 75% of other reps in pharma have gone through this before, and it was exactly like this. Ask your neighbor from or formerly with GSK, Phize, AZ, McNeil, Lilly.

Unfortunately- its hard to find the pay/ benefits that we have outside of pharma or device- and even more difficult to find a sale co that wants a pharma rep- I didnt plan on this 10 years ago when everyone wanted to get into pharma. The thing is that there are still a ton that want to get in and wouls take a fraction of what i make just to have the job. I want to keep my job- severance will be gone way too fast, the clock ticks quickly t thoase times, and interviewing when desperate is a losing situation.

If you think this has been transparent you are going to be drunk off the kook aid on your way to the unemployment line. It doesn't take much to impress you lol.

By the way, I don't think anyone has ever come out and told us point blank that reps will be displaced. I think we have all just assumed that. Those words have never come out of DB's mouth (at least not to the sales force).

So none of us are divorced with kids and show our pics of them and care about them. Come on- this is a business. ROI does drive everything- it always has, always will. gary couldnt run a salesforce that didnt provide a strong ROI considering the marketplace. Maybe it was a mistake for our salesforce to ever get this big in the first place, who made that call?

Listen, we are all stressed but I think this comment on his personal life is a low blow. We need to stay focused on our professional lives. I wished we had more transparency too. However, I'm pretty sure it's not ALL of DB's fault. There is much more to this re-org than throwing it all on him.

I agree. It's not all his fault and to talk about his personal life (which we know nothing about) is very low. Lets try to handle this situation with some grace and dignity.

I have heard this argument before and I don't buy it at all. We are spoiled to had been exposed to good leadership and business practices?? What made Shire a great place to work for so long is that it WASN'T big pharma. In the past few years, the people who built this company have been phased out and big pharma people were hired and are now in control. Now, they are employing the practices that you call "the norm".

And for what?? They feel that Shire needed poor leadership to lose the trust of it's salesforce which have been a huge reason for the success of this company? Good luck justifying that one. I know that they love to get up on stage with their little nightclub outfits and smile and tell you a bunch of BS like everyone can't se right through it, but it is really sad to see what this company has become.

Don't you think that just maybe some of the people no longer employed at shire might be due to the investigation? Hello compliance! The company is trying to do the right thing to avoid massive fines.

True but they aren't going to be able to avoid a massive fine. They are getting rid of people so that the fine doesn't hurt as much. So we get punished for wrongdoing that occured before our time...but that's life in pharma! I still think Shire is a good company and will recover from all this in the long run. The biggest problem is how leadership thinks the best strategy is not communicating...keeping tight lipped. But I'm sure they know what they are doing...
