If buyout does occur

What can we expect if the buyout does happen? Should I expect to be let go to make room for Watson reps? Is the buyout a good thing for WC Reps & increase our security?

Expect to get treated worse than Roger, Carl and Amber treated the P&G reps. All the management will get cut. A few reps will remain. You won't get the package they got though. Good luck.

Yea right. We have been down this road. Activis wants WC for their reps because Watson reps are garbage and are getting their ass kicked by WC (in women's health). I highly doubt that they will get rid of the reps, it wouldn't be received very well in a lot of the offices and Activis is smarter than that. I'm sure both forces will be kept, there are plenty or products to go around. Current Watson reps selling GENERESS will probably get minastren 24 and the LoLoestrin teams will probably remain since they are experiencing massive growth. 86% over last year q1. As to the other divisions, I have no idea how that might work. Just my two cents.

Most articles I've read talk about preliminary talks of a combination of the two companies. Implies they will keep majority of employees, although some will more than likely be let go.

All uro and WH reps will be let go after a transition. There is no need to double cover physicians. Actavis will select which position to place each product in. They are in the business to take over Uro and WH and push competition out. If your not looking now start soon.

All?! Haha, yea right. There are reps in territories that are blowing it
Out of the water. Why would a company let go of a top seller and let some d bag who is getting worked in that territory take over? That's just bad for business and will not produce results. Some will be let go, but I think they keep top performers. But, then again, nothing will probably happen. This is a yearly occurance.

so so clueless, high performance cost company money, open your eyes, and take a look at other pharmaceutical companies. they release both high and liw performing reps so they dont get sued.

Let's remember the news stories before the Warner Chilcott/P&G merger; Uncle Warner painted a beautiful picture of minimal layoffs AFTER the purchase, but then P&G did all the dirty work before the deal was finalized so WC appeared to stay true to its word. Oh, wait, how can you all remember. That was back in 2009, so the average current Warner Chilcott rep today was still in college then.

For those of you old enough to remember Berlex before Bayer bought them, look what has happened there. Class action lawsuits, layoffs, lack of job security, constant territory realignments, corporate integrity agreement... Joining big pharma is a curse. Good luck.

Actually the Actavis reps are pretty good considering the crap they have. They don't have the spend budgets we have and don't pull some of the things that we do. They are annoyingly ethical or I've heard they will get fired. I just don't want to start looking again as I thought I had a good thing. This one worries me.

Activis reps are pretty good? They have an OC that has zero market share and they don't really have much competition. They are crap. Our budgets only get us so far. Regardless, I believe this is a merging of sales forces. There will be some WC reps let go, I feel other divisions outside of women's health, should be a little concerned. I'll take the money from stocks though!

Wow, you know nothing about business. "combination"doe NOT imply "no layoffs". It simply means two entities are now one. Its that simple! There are ALWAYS layoff with mergers or acquisitions; depending on overlap. Activis has no reps selling OSTEO, DERM, OAB, HRT, or UC drugs so there should be minmal cuts here. However, there is certain to be overlap in administrative areas such as sales ops, IT, payroll, HR, legal, compliance, expense reporting, etc, and there will almost certainly be cost savings (layoffs) opportunities in these areas.

Please do not accept this merger as a foregone conclusion. The discussions occur all the time; in fact just a year ago, the same panic being expressed now was being expressed as Bayer "was going to buy us". Just elax and do you job, leave the merger crap to the exces.

So true; or selling copiers. 70% in industry fewer than 3 years.
