THE SUCKER GRUNT TAKES THE BAIT ......
You need to take a mental health break and detox from the wickedness of that company. Forget suing. Just take a break and look for a new job.....
When you get a job don't notify HSP...they won't come after you and hopefully you can double dip for awhile on this bag o' shit company......
What reasons did they give you? If it was unsatisfactory performance that came out of the blue, and you are not 50, then sue for age discrimination. your only other shots are sex, race, or religion. If not, you are done. Illinois, like most states, has a "fire at will" cover, meaning they don't need a reason, unless you have a contract, and it better be a good one.
DO NOT trust HR....Please. They will screw you every way they can. They will try being your friend and then stick it up your ass or intimidate you to walk away without a word.......
Suing the company will be a very painful process. Hospira, like all large corporations, knows how to cover their ass, has a stable of lawyers who couldn't get a real job, and will tie you up in court for years....unless you have a real case, don't bother. Just get what's coming to you re: pay, health insurance...probably 30 days...they will tell you none, and a recommendation from your boss, if he's not a corporate turd......
Move on, don't let it get in the way of finding another job.......
You are very naive. HR protects the company not you. Save that text, call a lawyer, you have your manager and Hospira by the balls!! Could be a multiple- six figure settlement and the end of your idiot manager. Racial issues are a gold mine. Where have you been ?
If you don't heed my advice then you are a fool and deserve what you get.....
Just join the Army and see the world.
