Did you ever ponder the idea that possibly the cso's don't know how to get a job themselves, how the hell are they going to help connect you with a career that is sought after by EVERYONE? hey blow hard i am a cso and choose to be a cso. i dont want anything else. there is no other job i know of that i have to put in no more than 1 or 2 days a week and run around doing what i want the other 5 days a week. speak for your own sorry ass. not everyone wants to make money. i am happy with a little spending play money. thats all i need.

of Barbie Salesrep.. BA in political Science, some event marketing (party planning) job out of college and now selling implants to spine surgeons ....her implants (based on photo) should get her plenty of time with those docs...

I love being on contract! I dont want the pressure of direct! This is the easiest joke around. Who would want medical sales with the pressure for sales everyday. No thanks, I will just keep collecting and don't honestly care if it ends, when it ends, why it ends.

Easy. Just go and get any SALES job..the challenge is most sales jobs offer very little base (but great upside if you hit the numbers) Pharma is just the opposite (regardless if CSO or direct)..you can cruise through this business with minimum effort.

Actually the statement is spot on. Most 'REAL' sales job offer little to no base but you can easily make 125-150k if you actually sell the service or product. Companiez also offer a draw against your commission in liu of base for the first 3/6 months. Whereas Pharma is opposite, larger bases with minimal effort.

I've been doing this Pharma job for about 3 years, and you have ZERO idea how good u got it I make about $280 an hour (70k / 250 working days @ 1hr per day)

True, Beautiful Saturday morning...I am in the office (not at home) working this morning at my SALES job...on a per hour basis it is tough to beat Pharma lifestyle quit moaning about it or try working weekends and after 6pm a few times to see what it's like

FYI...I started as a "rent a rep" with Innovex a few years ago - with a base of $26k and bonus around $20K - and car allowance of $400. Made sure I busted my ass and got to know the contracted companies management, then after a couple of years they offered a full time position with them.
After two more moves within that company to better divisions I was up to a base of $70k and a bonus of $50k+. Now I'm with a different company with a base over $100K and bonus at $35K. I recently iv'd with a new company in the market and base is $130K and bonus at $40K + company car, etc.
It was the "rent a rep" job that got me here. So, I think you can use this experience, work hard and take on the projects no one else will and be at the $150k point in about 5 years - I did.
(I was a telemarkerter prior pharma making at best $33K in a good year)
