Thankful for this post. I’m sorry that the original poster hasn’t found his/her happy place but Genentech is nothing without it’s concerts and big meetings in Vegas and San Diego. People on the outside sigh at what a mess it’s become and how the company pretends all is great!For those who are debating staying or going, don’t let sentiment fool you. Make a decision you know is right for you. It’s true the grass can always look greener. The grass doesn’t always need to be perfectly green. I liked Genentech a lot and I also found happiness elsewhere and I know others have as well. Genentech doesn’t any longer lead the culture and certainly not the true leadership ability of the industry. It’s a great place with great people, and to my friends who are searching their souls looking for other opportunities, know they exist.
