Don't accept your paychecks and go whine in some other organization! This is exactly what the above poster is talking about...go somewhere else or get busy changing it...if you are used to getting a paycheck without working hard for it then you are the real problem, not piss poor management! Control what you can control and get over the other!

The normal employee has little control over how the company is run....that's what made it unfair about screwing us on our bonus with their stupid factor of 72......what a pack of morons....

Minor, s1 employee here. Had hopped to collect a sweet sized bonus a few years back. Have big bills to clear. Hit my numbers and bigtime!.......then, pow, "things are being modified, we're in a cut back mode!"

Don't think bonuses to peons was the thing to cut.

Well, given the huge number of folks on here that feel exactly the way the OP does...you cannot have too many threads about it. It's the truth. Merck's corporate culture has ruined tens of thousands of lives. And it will ruin tens of thousands more, before all is said and done. And we're not even talking about the yearly layoff spectacle, which is now a proud/glorious company tradition. There is so much more to it. Hiding the truth from their employees. Hiding the truth from shareholders. Coddling senior leadership that has instituted one failed policy after another. Assigning process to make up for lack of vision. Stifling innovation. Pitting employee against employee in an annual game of dog-eat-dog. Executives and VPs driving their so-called "values" through fear and retribution, instead of encouraging teamwork and free flow of thought/ideas. It is a total cluster-f@&k. And that's putting it gently. So you can understand, and perhaps even forgive, if there is a new thread about it once in a while. ;-)

Why, do you really come to CP to read how "great" Merck is?

What is the deal with samples? The respiratory reps told to transfer all samples to EPBU reps while lipid reps sent email for ordering? WTF? This entire company seems to be run by a bunch of crazy people with no business experience whatsoever!

I would love the opportunity of fixing Merck with a total overhaul of management & structure the company how it should be structured and empowering the employees to make them feel wanted plus giving the customer base value through the employees that would be proud to represent Merck

Why don't you just leave the company, life is too short to hate your job as much as you do. I'm sure you can find something else to do. Please don't tell me that it may not pay as much as this because if that's the case just shut the f up and work and collect a pay check. No job is perfect but if Merck wants to keep sending me a check every 2 weeks for a job that i like I'm staying. If not , I'm going. No since in bitching about it just leave. Stop posting this crap on here, nobody cares.
